“Won’t any of the students that you knew from before the whole supernatural thing, recognise you and wonder what’s going on? I don’t think we’d be able to lay low if that got out.” I ask.
“No, thank god. During the first year the purely human recruits are kept separate from the rest of the school. They train in a different area and everything. We were all exposed to the supernatural in ways that nine times out of ten were bad and it’s because we’ve lost someone to a rouge supernatural. The academy likes to make certain that no one is attending under the assumption that all supernaturals are the same and so they want to get revenge. You know because that always turns out well.” Damon explains rolling his eyes and making us chuckle.
The noise level gradually increases again but I’m aware that looks keep being thrown our way especially by the staff.
“Anyone else notice that we’re being particularly closely watched by the faculty?” Dash says quietly and I nod.
“Yep. I wonder what the email the Director sent out to them actually said?” Hunt asks and I raise my eyebrow.
I’d forgotten that she’d done that before Nicole could catch up with her.
“Well since Nicole said not to,” Maverick pauses stopping himself from saying the words since we are being very closely watched and listened to right now, “I’m guessing she doesn’t know much and didn’t pay a lot of attention after the initial shock of Levi.” He finishes.
“Let’s hope so. Still don’t drop your glamour though, I think it would just be smarter.” I say quietly taking one last bite of eggs just as a bell rings, this one thankfully not sounding like a damn air raid horn.
“Thank fuck, that means it’s first lesson right?” I ask and Jett nods, “I was starting to feel like an exhibit at the damn zoo. We’re all in different lessons this morning right?” I ask.
“Yeah we’ve all got our specialty lessons. I’m assuming that we will get to have a lesson with all of us together at some point because I have no idea what all this, you know what business, involves and I’m guessing you don’t either?” Erin says and I nod.
We each say goodbye to our men, keeping it to hugs since honestly we’ve got no idea what is normal and what isn’t and we don’t need to give the students here anything else to talk about.
Erin links her arm with mine as the guys reluctantly make their way to their own lessons. Some of them doubling up.
“So where are we headed?” Erin asks.
“Damn I was hoping you’d know!” I say slightly wide-eyed.
“Nope I only know where the human lessons are.” Erin grins, “I’m sure we can figure it out.”
“I hope we get some decent information from this lesson.” I grumble and she murmurs her agreement.
After two wrong turns we finally find the right room and just like the dining hall we immediately get stares when we arrive. I am so over it. Thankfully though, there’s only four Centres in here, three girls and one guy. The girls are apparently deploying pack mentality and are huddled together on one side completely ignoring the guy who is actually gorgeous with his Onyx coloured skin and shockingly blue eyes, built like a quarterback. If I didn’t have my Bonded and it was pre soulmate days I would’ve found him ridiculously attractive, as it stands I just see someone who could use a friend. Especially since he’s the only male Centre in here.
The other Centre’s all look, disappointingly cliquish, is that a word? It’s a word now. They’re also stunningly beautiful and turn their nose’s up as they see me and Erin. I ignore them and roll my eyes, making my way over to the guy and settling in the couple of seats in front of him. He eyes us suspiciously and remains quiet.
“You’re not going to get lucky with him new girl, he’s a faggot.” A brunette sneers.
“What did you just fucking call him?” Erin sneers, disbelief and anger in her tone.
I stare, completely unable to believe that people are still so narrow minded. As the guy in front of us sighs a sound that’s so unbelievably tired I immediately want to give him a hug. Erin starts to get up and I place my hand on her arm.
“Leave it Erin, she’s just jealous that he obviously gets more dick than she does.” I say grinning when the guy in front of me coughs out a surprised laugh.
“What!?” The bitchy brunette starts to screech over Erin and the guy’s laughter.
I ignore her and smile at the guy that’s turned to face us.
“Hi, I’m Sage and this is Erin.” I introduce us, he eyes us warily but eventually decides to take a chance.
“Hi, I’m Cole.” He says simply and I think that’s all I’m going to get out of him but he adds, “and you’re right, I do get more dick than they do.” He smirks and me and Erin crack up laughing.
“Dude I knew I was going to like you!” I chuckle and he grins back. “What’s their problem anyway, you know other than them being backwards homophobic fuckers?”
“Eloquently put Sage,” he compliments and I dip my head in a fake bow, “it’s mostly because I’m a guy. Although it happened often back when Centres were being born at a higher rate, obviously with there only being four, now six of us as students here, I’m a rarity add to that, that I’vemade no secret of the fact I’m gay too. They just hated me pretty much on sight.” He explains, clearly tired of it all.
“Well if you want to you can hang out with us. Fair warning we’re far from normal.” Erin offers smirking.
I know that perhaps we should be being more careful about who we make friends with right now, the goddess did warn me to be careful with who I trust but my intuition isn’t pinging and I’m a sucker for an outcast. Hell I’ve been one my entire life.
