“Yes, Little Star?” Jax says curiously.

“I remember.” Kai says, the same curiosity in his tone.

“That’s what I was imaging, what happened in the bathroom but more,” I pause darkness descending, “I had both of you.” I hear them both growl as their hands grip me tightly before the fog of sleep finally takes me away.

I awake what seems like minutes later, a scream lodged in my throat and my breath heaving in my lungs, in my nightmare my back was sliced over and over again with no reprieve, as I screamed and begged for someone, anyone to save me. I glance around the room noticing that the guys are gone. I scrub my eyes with my hand thankful that they didn’t witness my panic. There’s so much that they already deal with, I don’t want to add to it.

A voice whispers inside me that they’d want to know, they’d want to help. I push the voice away and slowly get up. I’m still dressed in the yoga pants and a tank top Jax packed for me, so I just grab my shoes that have been left by the foot of the bed, along with a sweatshirt that smells like Levi and make my way out into the main part of the plane.

I start to worry about the other guys reaction to what happened between me, Jax and Kai in the bathroom. I mean I wasn’t exactly quiet, none of us were. Heat flushes my body as my mind wanders back to the bathroom. I push it away for the moment. It’s one thing to know that all of your friends like the same girl, that you’re all bonded and will have to share but it’s a completely different thing to hear it going on.

All my fears are swept away as I enter the main part of the plane, all five of my gorgeous men turn to me grinning naughtily. I was completely unprepared for this scenario. I was braced for jealousy at the worst and feigning ignorance at best. Not the total acceptance and desire I see staring back at me from all of them. I should have known better; my men are special. Of course, since it’s taken me by surprise, I blurt the first thing that comes to mind, which is obviously inappropriate.

“Does this mean I’m part of the mile-high club now?” I question seriously then promptly smack my hand over my mouth when I realise what I said.

The guys all stare at me blinking before they all burst out in raucous laughter.

“I never know what’s going to come out of your mouth next, Sweetheart.” Hunter chuckles.

I grumble loudly at them laughing at me before taking the only seat left that’s next to Levi, he promptly pulls me onto his lap and nips my ear making me gasp and my core clench.

“I think you actually have to have sex to be in the mile-high club, I’d be more than happy to help you out Darling.” He growls his voice deeper than I’ve ever heard it before and laced with heat and promise.

I wriggle on his lap trying to ease the ache between my legs and feel him grow hard beneath me. He nips my ear again and growls low, stilling my movements as the primal sound shoots straight to my core. I’m about to take him up on his offer when the pilots voice comes over the speaker.

“We are coming into land. Please put your seatbelts on.”

Me and Levi groan in disappointment before he places me back in my seat and fastens the strap. He leans over and kisses me slowly, his tongue caressing mine. He pulls back just as the plane descends.

“Soon.” I tell him grinning as his eyes darken with need.

The plane lands with a jolt.

“Come on you two, let’s go home.” Maverick says grinning.

We all disembark the plane, Knot finally rouses from her sleep on one of the front seats, stretches and follows us off. She twines around my legs as we walk to the SUVs. Her presence grounds me. The guys insist I take the front seat, and Knot wastes no time in jumping up and curling up on my lap. My fingers run through her soft fur. We make it back to the house in record time. All of us absolutely exhausted. After arguing about who gets to sleep in my room with me, I suggest that we all sleep in the lounge and the guys waste no time at all moving the coffee table and creating a massive comfy looking nest of mattresses, blankets and pillows on the floor.

Kai puts a light-hearted comedy on and we all enjoy the light atmosphere after having so many days of turmoil. I glance around the room at my men laughing and joking with each other. Our journey is far from over, I still need to debrief everyone and we all still need answers but right now, all of that can be put on the back burner. For the first time in my life I feel one hundred percent safe, I feel happy and I feel loved. There is no other place I’d rather be. I know we have more trials to face but I also know that surrounded by my men, my Soulmate Bonds, we can conquer anything that tries to tear us apart.

Everything else can wait, I need this moment of peace with them. I have a feeling that these moments of complete peace might become harder to find in the future. I drift off to sleep surrounded by them and abundantly thankful that they are mine.

Chapter Twenty-Two

“This is going to suck donkey dick.” I grumble.

“Eloquent as ever Beautiful.” Kai chuckles, wrapping his arm around my shoulders as we pull up to my parent’s house. “We convinced them to give you the evening last night, but everyone really needs to know what happened in that warehouse, you’ve only got to tell it once.” He finishes. Worry clouds his eyes as he looks me over.

“And don’t forget Erin and her guys are arriving soon.” Jax reminds me as we get out of the car, Knot jumping down beside me.

“What?” I ask, “I thought they couldn’t come for two days?”

“They couldn’t but Thomas changed his mind and thought we should get it over and done with, there’s a lot to sort through, and not just from the warehouse.” Levi explains as he knocks on the front door.

Jax gently starts to run his hand up and down my back, I flinch but relax quickly as he leans down and whispers in my ear, “I’m so sorry we couldn’t heal them completely.” He says quietly as anger and sadness fight for dominance in his tone.

“I would be dead if you hadn’t done what you did to heal me.” I say firmly.

I was too distracted yesterday to notice or bother to ask but this morning when I had my shower, I caught sight of the faint lines covering my back, scars from the whip. They could be worse though, they could be raised and red but instead they all look years old, silver lines in a faint pattern crossing my back.
