A part of me sings at the term. I can feel Jeremy and Nic’s shock, happiness and awe at this bond forming.
I snuggle closer to him, bridging the gap of any space between us.
I want to feel as connected to him as I can right now.
Twenty Nine
Jeremy
Aly is an incredible fighter and even though we don’t know who trained her or why she can’t remember it, I’m just glad she can protect herself.
My instincts have calmed down with each bond she’s formed and now that she has three of us bonded, I’m feeling more confident in her safety.
Now she just needs to bond Jax and Kiran and we will all be complete. I have no doubt it’s coming soon. I think she’ll probably bond with Kiran in the next few days and maybe Jax after they go on a date. They don’t need to be intimate to have the bond, so they can continue to wait. I know Aly wants them and Kiran and Jax are probably dying for theirs.
It’s training time with Aly, although we should really just call it sparring since we aren’t training her. If anything, she should be training us but she can’t, because of the spell. I’m sure Nic is dying to try to remove any remaining spells but he’s being smart by waiting. We have no idea what will happen and last time he tried, she almost died. I don’t think any of us are looking for a repeat performance.
I have a new idea to try today, to step our sparring up a notch. All the guys have gathered but I’m going to send them away. This idea only works with me so they would be a distraction.
“So, I was thinking today we work on weapons and killing blows,” I say.
We’ve used weapons before and Aly has been a natural at all of them but we’ve always been careful not to let anyone get hurt.
“I don’t know Jer, you think that’s a good idea?” Jay asks.
“What are you talking about? I’m not killing anyone!” Aly responds sounding horrified at the idea.
“Of course not,” I say, stepping over and wrapping her up in my arms, “I can’t die with these weapons so you can strike me without worrying.”
She glaring at me like I’m crazy and I can’t hold back my laugh.
“I promise, here,” I point to Nic and step away from Aly.
Nic raises his eye brows, asking if I’m sure and I nod. This will help make sure Aly is safe, so I’m sure.
He picks up a sword and digs it right into my chest. I barely feel the pain before I fall and black out.
I come back to my body in what feels like seconds later but was probably a few minutes. Aly is sitting next to me with shock and horror on her face.
“That was terrifying,” she yells before pulling me in for a hug. I can feel the wound healing and it’s like nothing happened.
I glance up to see Nic has a black eye he’s healing, clearly Aly didn’t take that well.
“Now you’ve seen how it works, I can’t die like this. It’s part of being a demon, let’s practice with weapons and you can be less careful. Okay?”
She nods but she looks skeptical. I think it’s going to take some pushing but at least she’s not outright saying no.
I glance over to the guys, “you should spend this time doing more research on what Aly could be. I can handle training.”
Nic nods, “Jax and I will go research. Jay and Kiran will stay and help.”
I’m about to complain, we don’t need help but Nic cuts me off with one look. So instead, I nod.
They head back upstairs and Kiran and Jay get comfortable in the corner.
I wipe the sword off before handing it to Aly. Then I pick one up myself.
“Let’s just start like we normally do, okay?” I ask and she nods.
