As soon as the door closes, I let out a sigh.

“Fuck, why am I so nervous? I feel like there is so much riding on this.”

Jon looks at me with a smirk.

“Relax, brother. She’s already agreed to date us and see where things go. She only had two requirements for us. One was to wait to go on dates till you came home and two was for us not to show affection or anything more than friends in public till she no longer works for Pa. She doesn’t want to lose her reputation at work.”

I nod as some of my muscles relax.

“I should tell ya, we both ended up kissing her last night, so don’t feel you need to hold back in here.”

Before I can say anything, I hear voices on the other side of the door.

Seeing the doorknob turn has the butterflies in my stomach threatening to overflow.

“Why are you so insistent I come in here? I’ve got a trunk full of stuff to unload. What? Rory? When did, how did, what?”

She’s as gorgeous as the couple of pictures I saw and that surprised look on her face is something I’m going to have to repeat.

Grinning as she moves around the desk and gives me a big hug, I say, “Hey, beautiful. Got released early and just got here a few minutes ago.”

Feeling her arms around me feels more right than anything ever has. As soon as she moves to look up at me, I can’t stop from leaning down to kiss her. Her lips call to me like a siren. As soon as our lips touch, I feel a jolt of electricity and know that this is what Pa talked about when he knew Ma was the one for him. Jane is my joy, my one, ours.

One second, I’m questioning why Juan is dragging me through the building and the next, I’m given the shock of Rory being home. As he consumes me in an electrifying kiss I feel to the tips of my toes, I realize that they all kiss very differently. But I wouldn’t want to be without any of them. When Rory breaks the kiss, before I can stop the words, I blurt out, “That was a real-life foot-popping kiss. Holy shit.”

Juan busts out laughing and I’m pretty sure Jon is chuckling too. Looking into the greenest eyes I have ever seen on a man, I can see Rory’s trying not to laugh.

“You’re gonna have to explain that one to me, sweetheart.”

“Ya’ll can’t just forget that slipped out?”

Juan pipes in while still laughing at me, “Baby, no way. We need to know what it is, ’cause I’m gonna have to best that at some point.”

I glare at him while still in Rory’s arms.

“Fine, if you must know, it comes from the moviePrincess Diaries. She talks about how in all the old movies when the guy kisses the woman, her foot pops up and in those movies, it’s always a sign that it was a passionate kiss.”

I can feel Rory’s hands squeeze my hips as I describe what I meant. Turning to look at him, he lands another earth-shattering kiss on my lips. We must kiss for a few minutes because when he breaks the kiss, I notice we’re alone.

“The Js filled me in on what’s going on, beautiful. I know we aren’t going to be public for a bit, but I couldn’t not get a taste of you. I feel like I know you from the letters, but still feel like there’s so much more to learn.”

Good Lord, this man. How wrong is it that I’m looking forward to having some friction burning places because of his luscious beard? I think my recycled virginity is going to be a thing of the past here pretty soon.

Rory breaks me out of my thoughts.

“As much as I think I would love to know what you were just thinking about, we probably need to get back out there. I need ya to go first, darling. Let them know I’ll be out in a minute.”

“Sure thing. Hopefully, they helped that poor prospect, Cain, bring in all the stuff I baked.”

“I’m sure it's all been taken care of, but that’s a prospect’s job. We all had to do grunt work at some point.”

“Okay, well, I’ll go back out and let you take a minute. I hear reciting the times tables can help.” I give him a quick kiss on his shocked face and walk out. Since I haven’t actually been here before, I go in the direction we came from when Juan dragged me to the office.

Standing at the bar, waiting for one of the prospects to grab me a beer before I head back outside, I’m still in awe that Ror is home. The prospect hands me a beer as I hear voices coming from the hallway. I hear Jane, and I start walking toward the hallway as I hear the voices getting louder and not because they’re coming closer.
