Marcellus lays down on the bed next to me, shimmying his pants down and off his legs with hurried jerking movements. The second they’re off, I pounce on him. I’m not sure who is more shocked with my uncharacteristic actions, him or me. Before the surprise has passed, my hips start to grind as I run my hands up his chiseled chest. There’s nothing between his manhood and my core. My pulse speeds up as I anticipate what it will feel like to have his thickness replace the fullness of his fingers inside of me.

My mouth goes dry as I slide myself along his member. I need him inside of me. Right. Now. Staring into his eyes, I know he feels the same way. My hips lift off of him as he reaches for his manhood and lines it up to my opening. His other hand caresses my hip and applies a gentle pressure, encouraging me to lower my weight down on him. Our eyes are locked on each other, and we don’t say a word. We don’t need to, our eyes are expressing everything for us.

I suck in a sharp breath as he begins stretching me, filling me, and I can only gasp at the way our bodies move together in tandem. It feels as though my soul is melding together with his, and it’s the most glorious sensation I’ve ever known. My core continues to slide down his length until I’m seated on him fully, and my eyes go wide. I never expected it to be like this, the pleasure my body is experiencing...

Both of his hands are on my hips now and his stomach muscles flex as he sits up. A hand leaves my hip, and he reaches up to cup my face as he pulls my lips to his. My arms wrap around his neck and my chest brushes against his. Our lips meet in a frenzy, a desperation consuming us. His tongue swipes into my mouth and mine meets his in a dance back and forth. This time our kiss is deeper, hard and urgent. I moan out my pleasure, and Marcellus eats it up as if no amount will satiate him. His hands roam my body, trying to touch every place that has yet to be touched by a man.

More. I need more. My hips roll again and his hand on my hip instantly starts to help steer my movements. Marcellus joins by pushing his hips up to meet mine. His arms wrap around my body to help us in the smooth rocking rhythm we’ve built, thrusting back and forth. I love the way his arms brush against my naked back. Skin against skin everywhere. My entire body is filled with delicious tingles from our mate connection. I just know the tingles are building toward an explosion within me.

My thighs are starting to burn as I use the muscles in a way I never have before. Lifting myself up and down on Marcellus’ lap, chasing after the pleasure building within my body. I know it’s close, almost within reach. Moving faster, the pressure in my core is just about to hit a crescendo. It’s here! Overwhelming my senses. Closing my eyes, I ride out the waves of pleasure coursing through my body, my core clenching over and over on his member. A loud moan erupts from my mouth. I melt into his embrace, no longer having the strength to hold myself up.

Once I’m able to catch my breath, I open my eyes. I’m laying on my back alone in my chambers. The blankets are tangled up around my legs. A sheen of sweat covers my body and I glance around trying to figure out what just happened. Where did Marcellus go? And how am I dressed again? Why do I feel so empty inside right now?

The memory of Marcellus saying goodnight to me last evening comes flooding back. It was all a dream. An incredibly wild and vivid dream. I feel like the imprints of his fingers are still on my hips, the tingling pressure right under the surface of my skin. The taste of his kiss is still in my mouth, and my bedding smells like spearmint.

The room around me is mostly dark with morning light barely streaming in. I’m well rested despite my dream and Marcellus having been in my room fairly late last night. My mind is finding it difficult to keep the facts straight between what actually happened last night and the dream version. Finally, I remember Marcellus falling asleep on my lap, and I didn’t have the heart to wake him up since he looked so peaceful. Eventually he woke up, and left me with a kiss on the forehead and a promise to spend time together today.

My limbs stretch in preparation to climb out of bed. The clothes I want to wear today float over to me and I begin getting dressed. I should probably go and let my guards know I plan on spending the day with Marcellus and they don’t need to come with us.

I make my way to the door to let Frances and Baxter know, but as soon as it opens I find myself needing to duck from a fist approaching my face. Instinct has me throwing up a shield to protect myself, and Marcellus curses as his hand hits it.

Our perfect timing had me opening my door right at the exact moment Marcellus came to knock. Laughter fills the hallway as we realize what happened. Baxter, who’s standing guard, just gives me a side eye and raises his eyebrow. I've known him long enough to read his expression. It has nothing to do with right now, and everything to do with how late Marcellus was in my room last night. Thanks a lot, Frances, the man couldn’t have kept that to himself. My eyes roll in a pointed glare back at him.

“Baxter, can you let Frances know that Marcellus and I are going to be spending the day out together. I’ll be fine with him to protect me.” Baxter doesn’t appear too pleased with my saying they don’t need to accompany us. It’s heartwarming how serious they take protecting me, even when I don’t need it.

Excited to get the day started, I smile at Marcellus. “I’m ready whenever you are.”

“Well, then, Cecily, let’s go.” He holds out his hand for me to take, and when I do he starts us off for the same door we always seem to take to when leaving the castle. This time though he doesn’t lead me out of his secret exit, instead, because of all the people who are already awake, he takes me out of the main thoroughfare to the town.

I have no idea what his plans are, I would ask, but knowing him, he’ll just say it’s a surprise. Marcellus isn’t carrying a pack this time so it doesn’t look like he’s bringing along any food. Maybe I should’ve eaten before we left. It’s too late now though.

My mate seems to be in a better mood today. My mind replays our parting words from last night.Marcellus wakes up slowly, blinking his eyes free of the hold sleep has on him, and lifts his head from my lap. Fates, he looks adorable. There are some lines on his face where his cheek rested on my lap and his hair is still sticking up in a few places. He glances around the room, surprise evident in his features to be waking up here. “I apologize, my darling. I didn’t mean to fall asleep on you. Hopefully, my respite wasn’t much of an imposition.”

He stands, ready to part ways with me so we can both get some rest before tomorrow. “It was no imposition at all, Marcellus. I rather enjoyed just having you here with me, even if you were sleeping. I found it relaxing to run my fingers through your hair.” We walk to my door, but before leaving for his own room, he pulls me into an embrace. I relax into the comforting warmth of his arms and wish I was brave enough to voice my desire for him to hold me through the night.

More and more as of late, I’ve been craving a greater connection with him. As he pulls back, he leans toward me with his eyes intent on my lips. Is this the moment I’ve been waiting for? Is he finally going to brush his perfect lips against mine in a kiss goodnight? I bite my lip in anticipation of feeling his mouth on mine, but with a sudden hiss, he pulls back at the last second.

My stomach drops with disappointment. Why must he reject something we both want? When he sees my stricken gaze, he says, “Sorry, Darling, I haven’t fully woken up yet.” He quickly kisses me on the forehead and dashes for the door, ripping it open like he’s being chased away.

I pout with the memory of such a tease of a moment. I wholeheartedly wish he would stop holding himself back from kissing me, and it’s not like he’s stopped himself from any and all physical contact. What is he trying to achieve by not kissing me, it just doesn’t make any sense. Oh well... maybe he can be convinced to tell me his reasons today.

“I’m surprised you haven’t asked me what we’re doing yet,” Marcellus says to me as he swings our hands back and forth teasing me.

I smile at him, remembering how he teased me on the way to see the Indians the other day. “Yes, well, I have a theory that if I asked you, you wouldn’t tell me anyway.”

“You never know, I might…” His tone makes me laugh, but I can’t help and play along by asking where we’re going. “It’s a surprise, Cecily, you should know I don’t spoil my surprises.” I throw my hands up and walk faster in front of him with a huff. I knew he was trying to bait me and yet I walked right into it. He laughs as he catches up to me and grabs my hand again.

This time I’m the one who plays his game of no-touching. It only takes me pulling my hand out of his reach the one time before he growls and scoops me up in his strong arms. A surprised yelp bursts from me and my legs kick about but he doesn’t put me down. Instead I wrap my arms around his neck, happy to be close to him.

“I hope you have a plan for breakfast, I can be a bit of a bear when I’m hungry.” The only response to my warning is a smile. He heads off the main path to a trail I missed seeing the last several times I passed by when coming this way. It seems like wherever he’s taking me this time won’t be as unknown since there's a worn path taking us there.

Marcellus finally responds after a moment. He offers a fake gasp. “How could you have such little faith in me. Of course I have plans to feed you!” The arms holding me up suddenly expend an upward force, throwing me into the air. My scream echoes off the trees with my surprise, his actions completely unexpected. A few birds are startled in the nearby vicinity from my outburst. Strong arms catch me as soon as my body comes back down, and I immediately clamp my own arms around his neck squeezing tight. “I didn’t think that would work,” he says with a little shock mingled in.

“I can’t believe you would risk my safety just to get me to hold you tighter! Marcellus, how dare you!” I exclaim in shock. He just laughs at me. The audacity... The nerve he has... Ugh, this man!

His nose nuzzles into my cheek. “Do you really think I would’ve dropped you? I thought you would trust me more than that.” I narrow my eyes and glare at him instead of responding. This man better feed me soon or I'll follow through on turning into a bear. We’ll see how funny he finds my teeth.

I know he can’t hear my thoughts, but as soon as the image crosses my mind of my teeth sinking into his firm ass, he simply smirks. Marcellus carries me for a few more minutes through the woods before we come upon an open field. Studying the ground, I recognize strawberry plants, and upon focusing my vision to magnify them, I spot the red berries peeking out from under the leaves.
