I placed a soft kiss on his lips then smiled. All around us, clapping and bouts of laughter surrounded my office.

“So I’m guessing we are ago?” Maggie asked as she had herphone up and apparently, she caught the entire thing.

I was getting that video.

It was also in the next moment that I turned my head and saw my boss.

“I’m guessing you’re not working a two-week notice?” She asked me with a smile.

I knew that she wasn’t mad.

Smiling, I shook my head.

“Just so you know,” He whispered in my ear, “I bought this ring the day after we had rescued Stormy.”

I couldn’t wipe the smile that took over my entire face as we walked hand in hand out of the building.

I was stunned when there sat a long black stretch limo. It was my first time in a limo with the man that held my heart. I wouldn’t have wanted to share this experience with anyone else.

While we were boarding the private plane that Travis had owned, I asked him why he had flown commercial when he had the plane, but he told me that his pilot had a doc appointment. However, the plane was there waiting for us to leave New York.

Travis had hired a company to go to my apartment and pack everything up. Heck, he even got me out of the lease.

I was still so unsure of everything and what it all meant. But I did know that I had found my perfect. Hand in hand we flew back home. Travis never once lost sight of me. Even when I had to pee.

The moment we made it back home, I headed straight to the kitchen that I missed to start our dinner. I couldn’t wait to cook again. I needed to put the weight back on that I had lost.

Chapter 15

Travis

“I love my ring sweetheart, maybe that will stop people from staring at me like I’m nothing but a piece of meat. Can you finish setting the table for me, please? I have to keep an eye on the sauce.”

I shook myself silly and smiled a shit-eating grin. I had something to do before I could do what she asked of me.

I strode to the front door, threw it open, and shouted for all to hear, “She said yes!” I hadn’t told any of my men that she had said yes. We had gotten in only hours ago and because of a downed fence, we were busy repairing that fence so none of the horses would be harmed.

I could hear my men catcalling and whistling, I even heard Corrine’s hearty laugh.

As I approached the stove, I snaked my arm around her waist, as I trailed kisses down the column of her neck. The moment my lips touched her skin, those little goosebumps pebbled up on her neck.

“Put the garlic bread in the oven then please set the table.” She said huskily.

With a gentle kiss I placed on the back of her neck right under her upswept hair in that messy bun she loved so much, I went about following her instructions.

We were married three months later in a quaint little ceremony near the spring where we had our first picnic.

When the men had overheard Corrine telling me that the hands would be at the wedding and dinner because to her, they were her family, five of them had a few tears that they hadn’t been able to stop. That was a fact that we were taking to our graves.

I stood there at the arbor that Parker, Tim, and Gage had built for us when I spotted her. She looked like the queen she was atop Stormy. Her long white dress flowed over the back of Stormy. Thevision that they were, that was a photogenic moment. The photographer that I hired had gotten all of the shots and I couldn’t wait to see every single picture that she had been able to capture of the day that we became one.

All of the ranch hands stood in for us as our family because they were.

Later that afternoon, when Corrine had offered to make a feast for us, I had stood firm in my resolve and wouldn’t hear of it. I had our event catered, right down to wait staff with a five-course meal. Not only for ourselves but our hands as well.

We had also found out that the reason why Susan had been trying to land me, was because her father had lost all of his money in an insurance scam. They wanted me to replace their family money. As fucking if.

That night while she laid in my arms she whispered softly in my ear, “I have a surprise for you. In six months we will be having a little Denton running around the ranch.”
