Extra same.
I chuckled, and Frankie sent a laughing emoji at his ridiculousness.
Eli
What are you wearing to our game tonight?
Instantly, the energy changed as we played with fire. I knew she was at work, and I was still sitting on a job site I'd stopped in on to check some things, but Eli was off until Monday. Which meant he was probably home alone and horny.
Coordinating three people together, especially one that had two kids, was going to be difficult to master. But I was willing to try.
Me
Please say nothing. I’m dying to see more of you.
Eli
Rude. I was going to say something tasteful and supportive like, “That ACDC shirt with the hole in the sleeve you wear when you’re stressed.”
Frankie
That’s only mildly creepy.
Eli
I was going for romantic.
Frankie
It’s that too.
Me
So, are you going to watch our game and cheer us on? Or abandon us knowing we can’t give chase?
Frankie
I never watch your games as a spectator. Won’t that draw attention?
Eli
So? Let them stare, baby. I don’t care.
Me
Do you care, Frankie? Do you want to hide this?
I asked, but I wasn’t sure I was ready to hear the answer. What if she said yes? Would it change how I felt about her?
No.
But it would damper it a little.
I didn’t want to hide.
Obviously, I knew the possibility of a relationship between the three of us wasn’t the norm, especially for Cedar Bluff, but it wasn’t the weirdest thing either.
