After sliding her panties down her mouthwatering thighs, she winks before darting for our bedroom. I’m on her heels before she’s even halfway across our living room. The instant my lips brush her neck, her giggles switch to a moan.

There’s my girl. Back stronger than ever.

Around an hour later, we’re snuggled in bed, panting from the exhaustion of ecstasy.

Kylie’s breath ruffles the fine hairs on my chest when she murmurs, “I can’t believe we’re having a baby.”

I chuckle. I’m still shocked.

She balances her chin on my tattooed pec before locking her big beautiful eyes with mine. “Are you okay with this?”

I nod. I’m fine with it, because it’s happening with her. If it were anyone else, I’d be running right now. It also helps knowing she’ll be tied to me forever. Even if I royally fuck everything up, she can’t get rid of me, no matter how hard she tries.

“Don’t even think about screwing up, Slater.” Her voice has an edge of wittiness to it. “Because if you do anything wrong, Melanie will follow through with her threat.”

I chuckle. I have no doubt Melanie will haunt my ass if…

Hold on, how does she know about Melanie’s threat? No one but Marcus knows about that.

When I arch a brow, demanding Kylie spill the beans, she bites down on her bottom lip. “You left her note in your suit pants that have been lying on the floor in our walk-in closet the past four weeks.” She slaps my chest. It’s more playful than intended to hurt. “You do know what a laundry basket looks like, don’t you?”

“I’ve seen one a few times in my life, but laundry has never held my interest for long. Besides, isn’t that what I have you for?”

I laugh when she socks me in the gut. This one was to maim.

Once my chuckles settle down, she rests her head back on my chest, where she remains quiet for the next several minutes. “It is true, you know.”

“I know.” I run my hand down her hair. “I won’t give Melanie a reason to haunt me. I’ll behave—”

“I’m not talking about that.” She lifts her head so her eyes can roam over my face. She’s lost a little bit of weight the past four weeks, but she’s still the most gorgeous girl I’ve ever seen. “I know everything that happened when we were apart. I googled everything I could find about you after the stage curtain incident.”

She sounds embarrassed. I don’t know why. She didn’t do anything wrong. I’m the one who should be ashamed. I made a fool out of myself during those two years, and I’d give anything to go back and change every fucked up thing I did.

I attempt to comment on her statement, wanting to apologize for the stupid things I did, but she presses her index finger on my mouth, halting my words. “And in spite of all that, I still love you, and I continue to fall in love with you more every single day. I love you, Slater—warts and all.”

Chapter Forty-Four

Slater

Four Months Later…

“Are you sure this looks okay?”

“Fuck yes,” I reply without hesitation.

Kylie is wearing a teeny tiny black string bikini. She looks as hot as… I don’t have a word to explain how hot she looks right now. The most gorgeous part is her beautiful round belly proudly on display.

“I feel ridiculous.”

I grimace while peering down at the floral print board shorts Kylie purchased for me. At first, I refused to wear the hideous, ball-busting, penis-shrinking monstrosity she bought for me. But once her eyes pleaded into mine, and she promised I’d be thoroughly rewarded for wearing them, I would haveneverdenied her request. My cock and I will do anything for her.

Giggling, Kylie paces to the overflowing suitcases we haven’t bothered to unpack. “It was either those or these.” She swings a pair of red speedos in the air.

I gag. Just seeing them hanging from her finger is enough to make me want to vomit. “I’ll stick with these, but what’s wrong with wearing jeans to the beach? I have no intentions of going in the water, so why do I need swim trunks?”

Kylie and I have finally arrived in Fiji. It took us longer to get here than we would have liked. Kylie needed time to grieve, and the band has been in the studio recording our third album the past two months, so life got away from us.
