Next log to commence in three, two…

Log year one. Day one.

Hello, my liege, and welcome to the new era. I’ve compiled these annual logs for you to observe the progression of your plan. I hope these prove helpful in the unfortunate event of my death.

Now let’s begin.

Ninety percent of the human race has been exterminated, as per your suggestion.

Five hundred thousand humans were hand-selected to begin the breeding process. Their blood types should prove fruitful for future generations. Another one hundred thousand were put in the reserves to be tested for viability.

All children and youth under eighteen have been enrolled in the university system, with the exception of the weak, who were given to royals that enjoy the rich flavor presented in a child’s vein.

The rest of the human race has been divided by region, giving every royal and alpha an equal number of mortals for city operations. Most will likely be used as food sources, but others who prove more useful will be put to service in harems, gratification chambers, general service needs, lycan breeding, moon chases or other immortal pastimes, and so forth.

Blood Day proceedings are almost finalized with the Magistrate having been voted upon by the lycan side of the alliance. We will commence the first Blood Day ceremony one year from today. Humans will fight for their right to join our ranks. Only one lycan and one vampire will be selected.

All of this is by your design. I only hope I can live up to your expectations while you rest.

Sleep well, my king.

I will alert you when it is time to rise.

Press the green arrow to proceed to the next sequenced log.

End transmission.

Calina

My body tingled,my skin hot and sensitive.

It was uncomfortable. Yet, not.

I frowned, uncertain of how I truly felt.Rejuvenated. Lighter than air. Dreamlike.

The sensations were foreign.

As was the warm male blanket behind me.

Lips ghosted over my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. “Hello, Doctor. How are you feeling? Gratified, perhaps?”

My eyelids lifted, the windows before me displaying a setting sun. I couldn’t remember falling asleep.

Actually…

My lips parted.

Oh…

My thighs clenched as the memories of what had knocked me out came tumbling back into my mind.

Gratifiedwas an understatement.

Jace had sent me into a whirlpool of ecstasy that had almost felt unreal. And he’d ended our time together with a comment about giving him a full report.

A full report of what?I wondered, unable to recall what else he’d said.
