She debated running to someone for help, but they were nearing the water’s edge. No one was nearby. Only Eliza.

And the yacht anchored off the dock ahead.

A yacht Osiris appeared to be casually guiding Luc toward.

Her lips worked, a scream building in her throat. But what could she do? Yell? Would anyone be able to arrive in time?

She could try to use her power, to kill the terrifying being before her. But what if she missed and hit Luc instead?

What if it didn’t even work?

What if she’d been wrong about it all along?

Luc stepped on board with Osiris right behind him.

Eliza’s eyes rounded.

No. No. No.

She couldn’t allow this to happen. She had to do something!

Her lips parted, a scream almost touching the tip of her tongue when the engine started.

Everything around her shifted into slow motion.

There was no time.

Luc had willingly stepped onto that yacht, no doubt compelled by the monster beside him.

I can’t let this happen, she decided, darting forward.I can’t let them just disappear.

However, the ship was already moving.

So she did the only thing she could think to do.

She darted down the dock and jumped toward the back of the yacht.

I’m going to miss—

Everything around her shifted.

The world seemed to float.

No, I’m floating.

Then her feet touched the deck.

The air seemed to shimmer around her.

With feathers.

What the fuck just happened?she thought, bewildered, then lost her footing as the yacht picked up speed.

She swallowed a yelp and jumped toward the back of the yacht, ducking behind a random chair.

Where she hid.

As Hydria disappeared behind her.
