That same barrier pulsated, the energy tickling my skin and shoving Iston away from me with a sharp pulse that sent him into the wall.

My eyebrows lifted.Ketos?

Or did I…?

No. No I didn’t create magical shields.

Although, I could feel the rush of power brushing my skin, pulsating around us and creating a dome of sorts.

Odd.

Raven began to sway, her eyes falling closed. “Almost… there,” she muttered, blinking her eyes again. “Damn fog,” she grumbled.

“Fog?” I repeated.

“It’s amirage,” she gritted out, gesturing with her chin toward the windows.

I looked outside of them again and only saw the ocean.

Raven cursed, her body shaking with exertion.

But then she grabbed my wrist and sent a pulse through me. Brief. Entirely unwelcome.

And eye opening.

Because with the blast of healing, I couldsee.

And what I saw had my heart stopping in my chest. “A portal…”Full of Nora Warriors.

“Yes,” she hissed, her head dropping to Ketos’s chest as she continued shoving energy into him.

While healing herself.

And…

I glanced at her mates.

And her mates.

I gaped at her, realizing the full extent of her growing ability. She waspowerful. Which I supposed shouldn’t shock me. She was Sayir’s daughter, after all.

But that… that was impressive.

And it proved everything Auric had been trying to tell us wasright.

That something about this place was very wrong.

He hadn’t been able to see through the mirage, but he’d sensed it. And he’d tried to warn us.

And I hadn’t listened.

I… I needed to go to him.

But I… I needed Ketos to live, too.

That barrier around us pulsated with a strange energy, energy that I could feel, and I suspected it was coming from him.

Or maybe from us.
