Sethios’s eyebrows slid upward. “They are requiring we raise our child among your kind?”

“No.” Gabriel met his gaze. “They are requiring Caro to raise her child among our kind.”

“And me?” Sethios didn’t bother hiding his sarcasm. “What would they like me to do?”

Gabriel shrugged. “You were not mentioned.”

“Fascinating,” he replied. “So I’m free to do whatever I want.” Just as he always did. Good thing, too, because his choice would be to follow Caro and be a part of their child’s life. “I hope you have a big bed, angel. As you know, I like to sprawl out when I sleep.”

She gaped at him. “Excuse me?”

“I’ll be moving in.” He placed his palm over her abdomen. “This is my baby too. Your seers can fuck right off.”

Her lips formed a cute little “O.”

“You’re surprised.” He lifted his hand to cup her face. “What did you expect me to do?”

“I… I didn’t expect anything.” She swallowed visibly. “I hadn’t considered it.”

“Well, now you don’t have to, because I’m not going anywhere, Caro.”

Emotion brightened her gaze, electrifying her features.

God, he found her beautiful before, but she appeared positively radiant now. Passion and adoration were two sentiments she needed to display more often. He would endeavor to spark those reactions from her whenever possible.

Sethios studied her curving lips and felt his mimicking the action.

So gorgeous.

Sweet.

Intelligent.

Mine.

“I would make arrangements here in Montana,” Gabriel said, interrupting the moment. “It’s quiet, sparsely populated, and easy to protect. I’m guessing Osiris found you in Paris through facial recognition technology, but I will confirm with Ezekiel when I meet him tomorrow.”

Sethios switched his focus to the Seraphim. “I assumed Ezekiel traced my father to the condo.”

Gabriel shook his head. “He wasn’t there, which leads me to believe Osiris located you via other means. Large cities are littered with surveillance equipment, and while our blood makes us untraceable, it does not shadow our facial features.”

“Meaning he likely located me on one of my various trips outside.” He hadn’t bothered disguising his features, something he would reconsider moving forward. Although, it shouldn’t be needed in this area of Montana.

Most of the properties around Seeley Lake were vacation homes owned by the wealthy or houses passed down to family members. That meant infrequent visitors and constantly changing faces.

And the nearest city was ninety minutes away.

“Staying here is perfect,” Sethios murmured, agreeing with Gabriel’s assessment. “At least until we know more.”

“Good.” Caro laid her head against his shoulder and sighed with contentment. “I like it here.”

“Do you?” He chuckled as she nodded. “We just arrived.”

“The air is clean,” she murmured, yawning.

“It reminds her of home,” Gabriel added softly. “Take her outside during the sunrise. She’ll appreciate it.” The Seraphim took a step backward. “I’ll be in touch soon.” He didn’t wait for a reply or acknowledgment before he vanished.

“For one who strives for stoicism, your son certainly displays odd bouts of emotion,” Sethios mused. Gabriel kept laying hints on how to appease Caro, as if he wanted to ensure her happiness. That spoke of a nurturing bond, something that required sentiment.
