MELEK

Cami’s pleasurewarmed my soul, improving my mood slightly.

But I couldn’t shake the frustration darkening my mind, the very real anger I felt toward the one I loved most in this life.

I stood in our bedchamber, waiting for that love to return.

My Ty.

My reason for being.

Mymate.

He knew I was angry, could clearly sense it in our link, but he hadn’t tried to reach out yet. However, I could feel his presence nearing my own. Ty was on his way here, his mind no doubt prepared for battle.

I sipped my wine and paced, my silky robes swishing in my wake. I’d changed out of my royal attire the moment I’d felt Camillia’s intrigue, knowing she and Ajax were about to play. And the last thing I wanted was to be hard beneath my uncomfortable trousers.

Silk was a much nicer fabric caress to my uncomfortable erection. Maybe I’d let Ty truly relieve me of it.

But only if he begged.

“Lucifer made it very clear that if it happens again, he’ll kill me.”

“He said if I went near his source again, he’d kill me.”

Cami’s words played through my mind, making me nearly crush the crystal stem in my hand. It was very rare for me to feel upset. Very rare for me to experience true fury. But those few sentences from her had accomplished it.

Knowing Ty, he’d just been trying to scare her. However, I needed to be sure.

The source would have slaughtered her if it suspected she was a true threat. He knew that. I knew that. Everyone in this fucking kingdom would comprehend that if they were told the story.

While I understood that he felt a need to protect himself, us, the source, all of it, he couldn’t threaten a soul so closely connected to mine.

She can touch that source for a reason,I thought.Just like she can read Vita for a reason.

And that reason was very clear to me—she’s meant to be ours.

Not just mine and Ty’s, but Az and Ajax’s, too. The five of us would make a formidable circle. It would only make Ty stronger, allowing us all to even better protect his realm and those within it, and it would chase away this most recent threat.

Virtuous Fae.

Az and I had confirmed that their magic was somehow involved in these illegal portals. Which meant someone from the past had decided to restart old games.

Games they wouldn’t dare play if Ty had a stronger circle.

Camillia was the key. I’d known it from the moment I’d found her reading his book. She could assume I’d done something to enable that ability all she wanted, but that would never make it true.

The truth was that Ty’s soul had seen a potential match in her and had granted her access to his deepest secrets.Vita.

That couldn’t be ignored. It couldn’t be overlooked.

And it most certainly could not bekilled.

“Hmm,” Ty hummed as he appeared in the room, using his teleportation abilities rather than the door. “I see the Warden has finally given in to temptation. Are you angry because you weren’t invited?”

I slowly turned to face him, my gaze narrowing up at him. “I wouldn’t need to be invited. We both know if I wanted to fuck them, they wouldn’t say no.”

“But you do want to fuck them, Melek. So why not try?”
