“I know she does.”

“Then treat her with the respect and intelligence she deserves,” he counters. “It’ll go a long way.”

“When do I not treat her that way?” I demand.

His lips quirk upward. “You two are more alike than you realize.”

I frown. “We are not.”

He lifts a shoulder. “Whatever you say, Your Highness.”

I roll my eyes. “You were on your knees for my cock the other night and refused to call mekingthen, Nox. Don’t bother with the false formalities now.”

A soft gasp draws my focus to the open doors of the balcony. Fallon’s wide green eyes meet mine, her lips parted in surprise.

Shit. Was the door open the whole time, or did she somehow open it without me hearing her?Given my age and vampiric hearing, the latter would be a feat.

However, everything about this female is impressive. So perhaps she magically removed the glass barrier without me noticing.

“See you in a bit,my king,” Nox taunts as he disappears into his phantom form, leaving me alone with Fallon.

Way to make it more awkward, I think, chastising myself for giving in to Nox’s banter.Because things were not already awkward enough.

CHAPTERFIVE

FALLON

Noxon his knees for Kaspian?

Now there’s an image I wouldn’t mind taking to my grave.

My thighs clench with the notion of the two men being intimate together. Why have I never considered that before?

Because Kaspian is usually too busy grilling me about my powers to let me see this side of him.

He blinks, and thekingI’m used to appears.

The one with the serious brows.

Sharp cheekbones.

Dark, penetrative eyes.

Regal suit.

Stern expression.

Too-handsome face.

Elegant facade.

Full lips.

Ugh. Does he have to be so damn sexy?I wonder, instantly agitated by his presence.Couldn’t he at least be a troll?

“Hello, Miss Doyle,” he says, his English accent caressing my name with a hint of authority.

“Your Majesty,” I deadpan. I can’t help it. He walks into a room and I’m instantly annoyed. Mostly because he’s infuriatingly attractive. And dominant. And maybe a tad terrifying.
