“Who exactly is rescheduling it?” I asked, not for the first time. We all received a cryptic message a few hours ago stating that the rescheduled Blood Alliance meeting set for today had been canceled.

It’d originally been organized by Lilith.

Then she’d died.

However, we’d maintained appearances for a while, using Willow as a stand-in for Lilith, only capturing her blonde head from behind and leaking the photos to the masses.

Damien had also held on to Lilith’s phone, using it to send sporadic messages and making it seem like she’d simply prolonged her stay in my region.

But then Jace had killed Lajos, and I’d been given permission to share Lilith’s severed head with the world.

The meeting hadn’t exactly been canceled, though. It’d more or less remained on the calendar until it was mysteriously moved a week ago.

And now mysteriously canceled.

So who’s in charge?I wondered for the thousandth time. With Lilith gone, who is pulling all the strings? And how does Cam fit into this?

“Maybe Cam will tell us,” Kylan replied, a sardonic twist to his words as he answered my query about who has been rescheduling the Blood Alliance meetings. “He’s our intended savior, yes?”

I grunted at that. “So we’ve been told.” Jace and Darius seemed to believe Cam had a master plan. That he would somehow set us all on the right path.

Cam might be the oldest of vampire kind, but he wasn’t a god. He couldn’t just snap his fingers and fix all of this.

“I look forward to learning more when we land.” The deadpan quality of Kylan’s statement rivaled my mental tones.

We were both skeptical of this plan.

And our current trajectory didn’t help.

Hazel Region.

Fuck, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d even seen the blonde-haired vampire. Two or three centuries ago? I had no idea who she was in this new world. Did she approve of Lilith’s antics? Was she a loyal minion? Did she have no preference either way?Is she more like Jace?

None of the others seemed to have a good read on her either.

Hence the reason Jace and Darius were currently playing with theErositasin the back cabin. Calina had a lot to learn about how to properlybehavearound other royals, and Jace was very much enjoying their current session.

Or that was what I gathered from the moans I could hear echoing from them now.

I’d conducted a similar training with my pet once on a jet. Only, it hadn’t just been for her benefit, but for my own as well.

Damien had felt we’d needed to be more intimately acquainted to appropriately convince others that Willow was my toy.

I’d played along, mostly because it’d given me an excuse to touch her.

But I had no desire to put her in a box and make her conform.

Jace and Darius could play the political bullshit game. I’d just be me. And Willow would simply be her—my perfect little disobedient pet.Who likes to bite.

She glanced back at me like she could hear my thoughts, a wicked promise flickering in her pretty eyes. She’d left a crescent-shaped indent in my shoulder mere hours ago. Alas, the wound had already healed.

Thus, she’d just have to do it again.

And again.

For all of etern?—

“Ryder.” Damien’s unexpected voice had me blinking away from my mate and in the direction of the cockpit.
