“Yes,” Hazel agreed, leading him to the exit, only to pause on the threshold. “Oh, if any of you need anything, feel free to work with Vincient in reception. He’ll see to all your needs. Otherwise, we’ll plan to meet again tomorrow. After you’ve had some time to discuss things.”

The three of them disappeared through the doorway, leaving me with Jace and Darius.

As well as their mates.

Kylan and Rae.

And myErosita.

Well, this should be interesting,I thought. “Who wants to help me remove the tracker?” I asked out loud.

Jace immediately smiled. “An opportunity to cut you? The pleasure will be all mine.”

CHAPTER FORTY

IZZY

I studiedthe back of Cam’s neck, noting the smooth skin. An hour ago, he’d bled. But his immortality had healed him almost instantly.

It’d been quick—a slice of the knife, pliers to remove the tiny disc, the washing of hands and instruments, and the destruction of the tracking device.

Then Jace had used Khalid’s scanner to ensure Cam didn’t have any other trackers embedded beneath his skin.

His ocean-blue eyes had held mine the entire time, memories of Cam scanning my naked body flooding both of our minds.

He’d been aroused and furious by the recollection at the same time. Aroused because he’d enjoyed caressing my skin. Furious that Michael had set it all up.

I can’t wait to watch you rip him apart,Cam had growled into my mind.Just say the word, and I’ll turn you. Then you can shred him with your vampire teeth.

His comment had been so unexpected that I’d nearly gasped aloud.

And I hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it since.

Because he’d meant it. If I wanted to become a vampire, he’d turn me.

No discussion needed.

No concern regarding him losing his immortal blood supply.

Not even a thought about the waning human race or how it might be difficult for him to maintain a food source without me.

He’d turn me. And we’d go from there.

It would ensure my independence while also making me stronger, something he saw as a benefit.

I have no idea why I didn’t offer you immortality before,he’d thought at me.But it seems obvious to me now that you shouldn’t have to rely on my immortality to survive.

I really wanted to discuss it more, but Jace, Darius, and Kylan were all drilling him right now about everything that had happened. They were also filling in a lot of gaps, telling him what Lilith’s logs hadn’t reported on.

Such as Cam faking my death and how Lilith had forced all known allies to denounce him.

“Your name has been a forbidden topic since she presented your ashes to the alliance,” Jace was saying now. “She made an example of your rebellion, saying anyone who defied the alliance would meet a similar fate.”

“She claimed you were insane,” Kylan added with a snort. “Tried to do the same with me recently. Didn’t work in her favor.”

He was lounging on a couch with Rae tucked up against him. I’d officially met her on our way up to the suite Hazel had given Cam.

Juliet had led the introduction, then she’d pulled me aside to ask if I was all right.
