I collapsed on my bed and laughed loud enough to startle poor Tennyson who was dozing on my other pillow.
“Perry kissed me.” Ten blinked at me and yawned as if this was not the most interesting news he’d heard and promptly fell asleep. It took me slightly longer to find the same blissful slumber. My brain was caught up in a loop of everything that had occurred that night. My last thought before sleep claimed me was of the epic orgasm and the spanking that had caused it.
Fucking hell, I was in trouble.
Chapter Seven
“Now off you go. You're too tempting right now, and we both need to be clearheaded before we talk again. Make sure you have a drink of water and fold your clothes up before you head to bed.”
The blush that coloured Cullen's cheeks was adorable, and I was tempted to lean in and kiss him again, but I had to show some restraint. The quiet and breathless way he said “Yes Sir” was so damn sexy.
I wasn't imagining the chemistry between us.
I remained standing next to Cullen's Mini, watching him walk up the path until he disappeared around the corner of the cottage. Even dressed in a worn pair of sweats, the man was a sensual beast. I had to hold myself back from following him inside and, believe me, it was damn well tempting. I hadn't expected to be so turned on by just spanking Cullen's cute arse tonight, but I had been. Add to that the time we spent just cuddling and talking... Holy fuck, the man was sexy. Oh, and he had looked so beautiful on his knees while we'd gone through the kneeling forms, too.
I hadn't lied when I told him I saw many hungry and jealous eyes. Cullen didn't realise what a catch he was.
Stepping away from temptation, I followed the narrow lane past Cullen's surgery until I came to another narrow street that led to my small cottage which sat right on the hill. With its elevation, I could, if I wanted to, look down onto Cullen's place. I could easily see if his bedroom light was on. I could do that, and it wouldn't be creepy or weird, just a concerned Dom wanting to make sure his sub for the evening had listened to his last instructions.
The light down below flicked on, and I let out a breath and glanced at my phone on my bedside table. I was sorely tempted to text him just to say goodnight again.
No. What the hell was happening to me?
Only hours earlier, I looked at Cullen as a naughty sub who liked to press my buttons. A man desperate for a firm Sir, but definitely not me.
Okay, I had grown adept at lying to myself over the months since meeting Cullen. Each time I called him annoying or childish, what I actually meant was challenging and adorable. I still saw him as a frustrating headstrong individual, but I also now thought I saw a man who'd been deeply hurt at some point, and one that was still holding parts of himself at bay.
I needed a coffee. Glancing at the clock, I was surprised to see it had only just gone eleven, but I was glad I called the night early. Cullen looked relaxed, but I could see the lines of exhaustion around his eyes. Roman had warned me that Cullen was coming off a few days on nights at the hospital, a fact I already knew as he worked closely with my best friend, Aiden.
“Coffee.” I said aloud to no one. I opened my MacBook as I walked past it to put my pod machine on. I opened the fridge and pulled out the last of the milk. I was going to have to run to the shops tomorrow even though I hated the idea. Sadly, theSainsbury's in Tewsbury didn't do the click and collect option, nor a delivery service.
A soft knock at the back door had me looking up from my pouring coffee. I peeked through the kitchen window. Aiden was standing there with a concerned scowl on his face.
“What are you doing here?” I asked as he walked through and slumped into one of my kitchen chairs.
“Waiting for my coffee. I knew you would have a brew going, Well, unless you finally gave into temptation and were banging Cullen.”
I didn't give Aiden the satisfaction of answering. Instead, I placed another pod in the machine and grabbed the pink and violet monstrosity of a mug he favoured.
“You have way too much interest in my life when you should really be focusing on yours.” I finally said, pushing the mug in front of him before taking a seat at the table. I pulled off my long leather boots and wiggled my toes once they were free of the soft calf skin. I loved them, but I also adored walking around barefoot.
“Mine’s fine. Pretty subs to play with on the weekend and a job I like. What more does a guy need?” Aiden answered.
“That sounds great in theory, but you forget I've known you since we went to camp together before we even had hair on our balls.”
“I've always had hairy balls.”
“Stop it. You always wanted to share your life with someone. To have a boy who you could dote and Daddy on ever since we first stumbled into Crimson all those years ago.”
“Jesus, you make it sound like we're ancient, not in our thirties.” Aiden grumbled as he took a long swig of coffee. He pulled his own boots off and lifted his giant Sasquatch feet up onto the empty chair regardless of the look I gave him.
“I take it you're crashing here tonight.” It was normal for Aiden to crash here. He was still trying to find a house closer to Tewsbury.
“Yeah, if you don't mind. I've got an afternoon shift at the hospital. Are you working tomorrow?”
I rinsed my cup out in the sink and looked out the back window into my small yard. “Yeah, it’s Saturday, so only a half day. I only have one client coming in for a cut and colour. They’re going full rainbow, so I've set aside the morning, plus I was going to try and go over some of the ideas Rhys wants for his wedding.”
“That's Simon's boy, yeah?”
