“Is that what we have, a relationship?” Conall resisted the urge to fall back on his elbows, to thrust into Sloan’s fist. It didn’t matter how much he did it anyway, with that ring around the base, he wasn’t getting off any time soon. “Because right now, I’m your pet. Your fucktoy.”

Sloan stopped jerking Conall off, and Conall groaned in disappointment. “Yes, pet. We might not have the most traditional relationship, but we’re together. You’re my partner, as well as my pet, and I am faithful to only you.” He stood and pressed his knee into the bed next to Conall’s thigh. Pushing at Conall’s chest, Sloan leaned over him and kissed his mouth gently. “We might not be able to show it in public, but you’re my equal, pet. Mine.”

Conall’s heart jumped and he smiled like a fucking schoolgirl with a crush. “Really?”

Sloan cupped his jaw, thumb sliding over his chin as he kissed him again. “Really.”

One simple word had Conall melting like chocolate in a fire. It also made the guilt heavy in his chest as he thought back to the way he was acting. Like an absolute idiot. He sighed, leaning into Sloan’s hand. “I hate that you leave me home while you go to your meetings. I want to be part of your life, Sloan. Every part of it. You let me go with you before. What’s changed?”

Sloan frowned down at him, dark eyebrows knitted together. “Nothing, pet.”

“Then why can’t I come to them?” He touched the scar on his chest, the same one Toscani left behind with a knife. He didn’t touch it much anymore because he tried to look at the positives, like how he and Sloan both have scars now. It was a reminder of something they’d been through. But now it made him feel vulnerable and he hated feeling this way. He’d never let his emotions win before, but Sloan made him weak, in all the best and worst ways.

Sloan’s hand covered his and Conall glanced up at him. “Pet, you are special to me and I’m sorry if I made you feel unwanted. You are the most important person to me and I would give you the world if you asked for it. You only need to tell me what you want and you’ll have it in a heartbeat.”

“What did your other pets ask for?” Conall asked quietly, softly. His words weren’t an attack, but a genuine question.

Sloan breathed in deeply. “A lot of things. Servants to do their bidding, the most expensive possessions they could think of, and to fuck me.” The corner of his lip curved and Conall laughed. They’d talked about one of Sloan’s previous pets before, who’d decided he wanted to fuck Sloan to show his own power. Sloan never allowed that, though. “So tell me what you want, pet.”

“Can’t I just be part of your life?” His tongue felt looser now and with that came embarrassment. He had said shit that he shouldn’t have and this was one of those things. The corniness made him wince.

Sloan stared down at him for a long moment and the skin around his eyes crinkled with the wide smile that spread across his delectable lips. “Yes, pet. I’d like that very much.”

“That means meetings,” Conall said seriously, chin raised. “All of them. And maybe… a job in the company? I helped Terrance run the Virtue, so I’m not completely dumb.”

“You’re the smartest person I know, pet. You’re definitely not dumb.”

“Then let me do something. I know you’ve probably got accountants and people who handle certain areas of the company, but there has to be something I can do.” He stared up at Sloan pleadingly. “I don’t want to feel useless, sir. I’m not one of your former pets. I don’t enjoy people running after me and treating me like royalty. I want to earn my spot at your side.”

Sloan’s smile made Conall’s heart thump harder. “Okay, pet. We’ll find something for you to do.”

“Thank you!” Conall grabbed Sloan’s face and kissed him roughly, their teeth knocking. Conall didn’t care though, he ate at Sloan’s mouth like he was a hungry man, and Sloan returned it with the same kind of burning hot passion that had Conall’s cock jerking. “Can I come now?”

Sloan laughed and bopped Conall on the nose. “No. You’re still being punished.”

“Still?” Conall pouted. “I haven’t come since you said I couldn’t.”

“Good, as it should be.” He shifted to sit on the bed next to Conall and sighed. “I want to explain something to you, pet, something I need you to understand.”

“Hm?”

“My business makes me a target. We’re not dealing with pesky politicians who want to get their dick wet like you handled at the Virtue. These men, and even women, are dangerous. Some of them, like Morenzo’s brother-in-law, broker a profitable deal with us, but being partners doesn’t make our involvement any less dangerous. Quite the opposite. I won’t get a mile near Diego without him knowing I’m coming. Men like him are smart. They learn from the mistakes that people like Pablo Escobar made. They know where he went wrong.”

“That’s not hard to figure out. Escobar did what every man with too much money does. Craved more.”

“Yes, that’s true, but it’s also their pride. Nobody can truly get them by the balls. Unless… you get the person who takes care of their balls.”

“Security?”

Sloan laughed. “No, the holes they fuck.”

“Tut tut, Sloan, watch that dirty mouth, or I’ll have to rinse it out.”

“What kind of liquid would you wash it out with, pet?”

Conall put all the wickedness he felt into his smile. “Not what you want me to do it with, seeing as you’ve banned me from coming.”

“You keep trying,” Sloan teased, pinching his nipple. Conall wiggled, the pleasure shooting straight to his balls.
