My eyes narrow. “Absolutely not. It would take more than a little pressure from your foot to get me off.” I lie, stepping between her thighs and distracting her. Her breath catches. Gripping her panties I pull them all the way off and slip them into my jacket pocket. Her lips part as she watches me. I smirk, burying my face in the crook of her neck. “Uh uh, I’m keeping them.”

“You can’t keep them,” she protests. “I can’t walk around without underwear for the rest of the day.”

I pull back, grinning. “I can. And I will.” My voice is low. “I want you uncomfortable, walking around bare under that little skirt, dripping with the reminder of me every step you take.” I drawl gutturally.

Jesus Christ.

The thought alone makes my cock stand to attention. Maybe it’s not such a good idea.

“You can’t just keep my panties.” She whispers, her wide eyes incredulous.

Smiling, I help her down from my desk. “I thought we already established; I can. Now get back to work before Janice starts getting suspicious.”

Anais hesitates, swallowing. “What if I smell of sex?” she asks. “I should clean up. You have an ensuite.” She points to my bathroom as if I don’t know it’s there.

I shrug. “I’m sure you’ve got perfume in that purse of yours. Use that. Like I said, I want you to feel where I’ve been. Next time Elijah wants to flirt with you, maybe he’ll smell my scent. Maybe that will keep him away.”

She laughs. “You’re jealous.”

“No,” I say, stepping into her. “Just territorial over what’s mine. And you belong to me right now, Anais. That was the deal remember?”

“Oh, I remember, alright.” She grumbles, bending to put her pumps back on. Slowly, she begins to rise, pausing at my crotch. Her eyes snap to mine. I glance down to see what has caught her attention. My jaw tightens when I see the noticeable wet patch on my light grey pants.

Fuck.

“Oh my god.” She laughs. “You did cum.” She bites down on her bottom lip, fluttering those long lashes up at me.

I grit my teeth, glaring down at her as I bark. “Get back to work.”

“Oh, it’d be my pleasure.” She grins, sashaying toward the door. She pulls it open, stopping on the threshold and throwing me one last smug glance, before her eyes drop to my dick. My eyes narrow, and I growl. She laughs, stepping out of my office and slamming the door behind her.

Groaning, I run a frustrated hand down my face. I head to my ensuite, stripping out of my soiled clothes and stepping under the hot spray.

Pressing my palms against the tiles, I sigh.

For the first time ever, I’m grateful for private showers and a closet full of spare suits.

Chapter 32

Anais

I’ve been summoned to Evan’s office a total of six times by mid-week. Each visit ends the same way. His hands on my body, working me with the skills of a man put on this earth solely for my pleasure. I try not to think about all the women that came before me, because right now, this American God belongs to me. And he bought me flowers. Sent them to my apartment with a little note with his name on it. That’s got to mean something… right?

Sashaying down the corridor, a grin pulls at my lips, impossible to suppress, as I make my way to my desk. Janice greets me with a warm, curious smile. “Morning. Someone’s in a good mood.”

I chuckle, placing my purse in the bottom draw and taking a seat. “What’s not to be happy about, Janice? The sun is shining. We’re halfway through the working week…life is good.”

Janice’s mouth twitches with amused chuckles. “Well, I hate to burst your bubble, Anais, but there’s a pile of documents that need scanning.” Her eyes shift to something on my desk, softening with pity. “And Mr. Maxwell would like them done by the end of the day.”

I pause, glancing over at the ominous pile of paperwork I must’ve somehow missed in my happy bubble. My eyes narrow. I inhale a calming breath. I will not allow Evan to ruin my good mood, unless…My brows raise in suspicion. Is this a test? Is Evan baiting me? He’d swear differently, but he loves it when I disobey. Loves to punish me.

I consider it for a moment. As much as I want to go in there, give him a piece of my mind, I won’t play into his gamestoday. As intoxicating as his discipline might be, as much as I’ve enjoyed the things he does to me; I have work to do. The stack isn’t as bad as usual, but it’s still a substantial pile and will consume most of the day. But with a smile on my face, I do as I’m bid and start scanning.

I don’t know how many hours have passed, but when a shadow falls over me I finally look up, expecting to see the devil himself. Instead, I’m stunned to find my brother grinning down at me.

“Harrison?” I blink, unsure if I’m hallucinating.

Harrison chuckles. “It’s me.” He frowns. “Has Evan worked you so hard, you’ve forgotten I exist?”
