Is this not affecting her?

Ilyas had said on numerous occasions that he could feel our Bond, just like I could.

“We’re leaving now, yes?” Sasori asked crisply as she pulled on undergarments from her own ruck, even as my cum slipped down her inner thigh.

Who was this woman?

She dressed quickly, waiting for Ilyas and me to answer her question and spring into action ourselves.

“Yes, we leave at dawn,” I replied, gently wiping my cock with a rag Ilyas procured from somewhere.

Sasori nodded. “Where do we sleep? We should get a few hours before we are summoned.”

I blinked rapidly, dumbfounded by how unaffected she appeared.

We just fucked and Bonded and she’s . . . worried about when we leave in the morning?

Unease slipped into my stomach, and I tensed slightly.

“Sorry, I’m not good at any of . . . this,” Sasori said with a wave of her hand in Ilyas’ and my direction as I moved to dress, Ilyas handing me each article of clothing.

I nodded hesitantly.

“That’s . . . okay. It’ll be a learning curve for all of us,” I admitted, hoping to put her at ease. “We sleep in my—our—room upstairs. I’m not sure if the bed is large enough for all of us, but we can try.” I shot her a shy grin, one she, thankfully, returned.

“I can, too,” she said, and I frowned as I pulled my boots on. “Try. I can try to be less like this.”

I smiled again as Ilyas tucked his hand into my own.

“That’s all I can ask. We are Bonded for life now,” I tried to tease and caught the edge of a grimace on Sasori’s face as we left the Bonding room.

She said nothing, and I attributed it to the massive changes and oily Bond sitting in our chests. We filed out of the room—me, then Ilyas, then Sasori—but were promptly stopped in the hallway by General d’Alvey.

“General,” I snapped to attention at his tense presence, my Bonded following suit immediately. General d’Alvey nodded at the three of us, his expression guarded and severe.

“Mage d’Talionis. You’ve Bonded?” he asked, eyes passing from me to Sasori standing two feet behind me and to my right. Ilyas occupied a similar position to my left. It wouldn’t seem odd, except the General caught everything. After I’d Bonded with Ilyas, we were never far from each other’s side, constantly needing to touch and be touched. Now, after Bonding Sasori, I felt none of the same instincts, the same pull. For all intents and purposes, Sasori was simply a glorified crystal.

I outwardly cringed at the comparison.

She’s my Bonded Vessel. It will get better. It just needs time.

I nodded wordlessly. General d’Alvey’s brow furrowed further before he spoke again.

“Information has changed. We leave now,” he said curtly with a nod in our direction.

“Yes, General,” I replied as he stalked down the hallway.

I stayed frozen in place for a moment longer, gathering myself for what was to come.

Ilyas’ large hand landed on my shoulder, squeezing once, before gently shoving me forward in the direction of the training field.

“Showtime,” Sasori mumbled under her breath as we walked in relative silence, the hustle of the Academy surrounding us.

Showtime, indeed.

I only hoped my soul would stay intact through it all.
