We cut the cake and drank champagne. Terry’s pops made a hilarious speech in which he embarrassed at least fifteen family members.

It had been a fun day in the end. But when the helicopter lifted from the ground, Terry squeezed my hand, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Nobody, except the pilot and our generous hosts, Paris and Boone, knew where we were going. I had my husband by my side, and we were going to be alone for days.

“So Paris owns an actual island, huh?” Terry’s voice crackled in my headphones.

“Yep. Told you I was small potatoes compared to him.”

Terry shook his head, smiling. “Well, I’m glad the thing with Carlos didn’t make him our enemy.”

“Are you looking forward to our honeymoon, dear husband?”

He let go of my hand and squeezed my inner thigh, but then he glanced meaningfully at the pilot in front of us. Right. He could hear everything we were saying. Terryrubbed a thumb across the inner seam of my pants and winked.

“I am.”

It tookus half an hour to get to the airport, then a three-hour flight in Paris’s private jet, and finally one hour on a motorboat. The island was a crescent-shaped range rising from the ocean, about a mile in diameter. The guy left our luggage on a small pier at the end of a pristine beach and took off.

Terry looked up at the villa on a cliff above us. The ultra-modern glass-and-steel structure was lit up for our arrival, shining against the sunset-colored sky like something from a sci-fi movie.

“When’s the staff supposed to arrive?” Terry asked slowly, gazing up at the futuristic residence, his face blank.

“Once every three days. Cleaning crew and grocery delivery.”

“So we’re completely alone on this island.”

“Yes. That was the whole point, remember?”

Terry nodded to himself then turned to the beach. A wide grin spread across his face.

“This is nuts.”

He stepped out of his loafers and dropped his pants before shrugging out of his short-sleeved shirt. Naked, he took off running along the shoreline.

“C’mon!” he yelled before he turned into the water, splashing through until he dove.

A few seconds later, two sandy-colored wings spread above the gentle waves. The setting sun painted them in orange and pink hues. Terry the dragon rose from the ocean like a mythical creature, causing a small rainshower on the beach. He circled the bay and flew above me.

“What are you waiting for?” The dragon’s voice boomed, bouncing off the cliffs.

“Enjoying the view!” I yelled.

My Terry was magnificent. He flew along the range and dove to the water’s surface, dipping his claws in the ocean, before flying up in a spiral, glittering drops spraying around him.

The display of pure joy brought tingles to my belly. I didn’t think I’d ever felt this kind of happiness before, this lightness in my body and clarity in my mind.

I stripped, leaving my clothes in a pile on the pier. Then I ran after Terry and shifted mid-jump. We chased each other like kids, diving into the water and rising to the sky until it got dark.

We lay naked on the beach under the stars, our human bodies covered in salt and sand, and we kissed. We were both hard, but there was no urgency, nowhere to go, no reason to rush. We let our tongues tangle, I brushed the sand off Terry’s ass and kneaded the muscle, and he moaned into the kiss.

He kissed my throat and bit my ear. “I want to lick your ass and fuck you, but we have sand everywhere.”

“There’s a shower by the pier. Let’s clean up, bring our things inside, and we can fuck for the rest of the night.”

“Mm-hmm. I like that plan,” he purred against the crook of my shoulder. “I believe I saw a rather large terrace up there. I could fuck you under the stars.”

“You can do whatever you want with me. In fact, I think I’ll stay naked twenty-four seven, so you’ll have easy access.”

“Great idea.” He patted my ass and hopped up.
