Grace quickly moved to Bjorn’s side and licked his muzzle.
“What is this?” the woman sneered at Bjorn.
“Who is she?”Grace asked Bjorn telepathically through their mating connection. She didn’t like the vibes emanating from the woman or the wicked scent that surrounded her. The woman—the situation—all if it made her skin crawl.
“I’m not sure, I feel like I should know, but I…I can’t remember. My wolf wants to kill her. He says she’s not to be trusted, that her majik is evil.”
“There’s no way you could have broken my spell!” the woman shouted, clearly angered to see Bjorn and Grace together.
Grace watched as her mate shifted to his human form to question the woman.
“Who are you? What do you want?”
“You were to be my beast! You’ll pay for this!”
The strange woman disappeared into thin air, but not before lobbing a fireball of majik at Grace and Bjorn. It was almost as if she’d never really existed, but Grace knew her imagination hadn’t been playing tricks on her. The woman had been there. Her scent hung over the area, her warning still ringing in her ears.
