“I wanted to speak to you. Alone.” Erin eyed Wade.
“I’m not going anywhere.” Wade’s jaw clenched. Erin might as well get use to the fact that he would be by Adalyn’s side for as long as she planned on staying at Black Paw, or until he figured out how he could walk away.
“Fine, you might as well hear my warning since you seem to be attached to your mate.”
“Warning?” Adalyn asked, confused by the sudden hostility she felt from her cousin.
Wade’s arm tightened around her.
“Yes. Warning. I will defend and protect this pack from anyone who tries to harm a single person here.”
“I would never—”
“You might not, but I think your mother has something up her sleeve. Why else would she send you here?” Erin interrupted.
Adalyn inclined her head. She understood Erin’s warning perfectly. If her mother did have a plan, Erin would do whatever she had to in order to stop her. Even if it meant killing Adalyn or her mother.
