Then she was back, lying there with Chance behind her. The sounds of the riders and the essence of their majik dissipated. All that remained was the shrieking of the wind.

The fire had been reduced to embers. Carefully getting up, she added several logs to the fire and returned to the bed. This time she snuggled a little closer to Chance, craving his warmth and strength after the emotional whirlwind she’d just been through. Reaching back, she found his arm. Draping it over her side, she held on to him with a firm grasp and finally drifted off to sleep.

His breath on her neck, followed by his lips caused her body to stir. One arm was under her, with his hand cradling her breasts. His other arm draped over her hip and his fingers slid sensually down her belly before brushing against her mound. Moving down her thigh and over to the back of her leg, his fingers slipped between her thighs, urging them to part.

Unable to speak out loud, she struggled to make sense of the erotic situation.

How? When did I take my clothes off? When did he?

She felt his erection pressing against her back as he pulled her closer. His hands continued to explore every inch of her body. She shifted her legs, giving him access to where she really wanted him to explore the most.

There was no use in resisting, she wanted this more than anything. She needed it. Every inch of her body begged for the pleasure he had to offer.

His body undulated against her. The head of his cock slid back and forth against her folds.

Please, now.She silently begged.

She nearly climaxed whenhis fingers circled her clit, but that wasn’t what she really wanted. She wanted all of him, needed to feel him driving deep inside of her.

In a single long stroke, he slammed home. His arms tightened around her as he pumped in and out of her. All the while kissing and nipping at the back of her neck. She cried out in bliss as his rhythm increased.

She pushed back against him, letting him know she wanted every thick inch he had to offer.

Just when she thought it couldn’t get any better, his canines pierced her neck. His thrusts came at a brutal pace, forcing a climax to wash over her. His body spasmed as he flooded her with his seed. But he wasn’t finished with her, not even close.

Shivering cold, she woke up with a start. The fire was out, the blankets thrown to the floor. Panicking, she patted herself down.

Wait, I’m still fully dressed? What? Jesus, that was one hell of a dream. I hope it was a dream.

She spun around, facing Chance. Lightly patting him down, she realized he too was fully clothed.

Oh, thank the Gods. But, wow. That was wild. Her body still hummed from the dream lovin’ Chance had given her.

She smiled at the thought of what it could really be like with him. Gathering up the blankets, she covered them both and fell asleep. This time without the dreams.

The next time she woke up, the atmosphere had completely changed. The sun had broken rudely through the window, nearly blinding her. The fire was roaring and Siggy, Hal, and Chance were noisily carrying on in the kitchen.

“Hey, Ginger. Wow, you look like you’ve been through hell,” Chance said, handing her a cup of coffee.

“Thanks for the complement. I feel like I was up all night,” she said and took a sip. She risked a quick glance to judge his reaction, wondering if his dreams had been similarly affected by their midnight kiss.

“Sorry to hear it. I slept like a rock,” Chance replied.

Of course, he would.

“Hmm. Must be nice.”

Without the burden of a truck full of supplies, he knew their wolves would make great time on the way home. What he didn’t expect was Ginger’s incredible speed, agility, and endurance. He admired how she instinctively navigated the shortcuts, picking out the best trails down the mountain.

Funny,he thought. His brain wouldn’t shut down. It kept on questioning everything about the previous night.

She asked how I slept, and I lied. Man, I felt like I was up running through the woods all damn night. And then…with her. I can’t remember ever having a dream that seemed so fucking real—so vivid. Damn, I wanted her so bad. Hell, I still want her. And what’s with this weird feeling? It’s like there is left over majik lingering around her.Chance couldn’t shake his thoughts. Not a single one of them.

They only stopped twice for short rests and to drink from fresh mountain springs. By midafternoon they arrived in the valley, just a hundred yards from Lars and Sofia’s place.

Slowing to a trot, she turned to face him. “Thanks for the interesting trip. I’d ask you if I’ll be seeing more of you around, but after what you said last night, I’m just going with the assumption that I couldn’t shake you off if I tried. So, I suspect you’ll be pestering me sooner rather than later.”
