Again, he slowly pulled out, inch by inch, dragging through her before he thrust forward. Digging her nails into his back, she moaned against the pleasure.
Fingers suddenly tightened on her chin. “Look at me, Lottie.” In the haze of the pleasure, she forced her eyes open. Intensity roared across his features. “Never stop looking at me.”
“I never will,” she rasped.
She kept her promise through every hard thrust, every slice of pleasure threatening to blind her. She wiggled and squirmed, hanging on the edge, taken higher…and higher yet.
The smirk filling his face told her he liked it too. That he knew exactly how to leave her hanging. To make the pleasure build and build, leaving her shaking around his thick cock inside her.
His plan became all too clear. Draw her climax out. Make her wait like she’d made him wait. But he wasn’t the only one who’dwatched. She’d seen Hunt’s face contort in pleasure during his shows. She knew what made his mouth fall open as pleasure washed across his features. And she was well versed in what sent Hunt’s control shattering.
Slipping her hand behind their bodies, she cupped his sac, relishing in his deep shudder and low moan. He thrust forwardhard, and as he did, she squeezed. His head dropped, his teeth taking hold of her shoulder and his gravelly moan tightened her core as he unleashed himself.
Hard thrusts led to blinding pleasure.
When he eventually roared against the orgasm, she finally let go, and as he bucked and jerked his pleasure, she soared alongside him.
Many, manyminutes later, Hunt found his way back from the darkness where the pleasure sent him. He chuckled to himself. He thought he’d had Lottie beat, but clearly he hadn’t been the only one paying attention during the shows. He couldn’t remember coming that hard in his life. As he lay on the mattress, Hunt knew he could get used to this. Sex in a bed, not in Phoenix. Lottie draped over him, satisfied and lazily dragging her fingers along his chest.
“You’re really not upset with me?” she eventually asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Why would I be upset by the fact that you’ve got secrets?” he asked. “Secrets kept you safe, and got you away from your family. A family that got your mother killed. Your family is what it is. You can’t change what you’re born into, but you can change the situation, and you did that.”
Her finger stroked lower over the ridges of his stomach muscles. “I guess, but are you honestly not worried that you’ll be judged by who my family is? On paper, we don’t make sense. I don’t see how you can’t be thinking of that. It’sallI’ve thought about.”
Christ, he liked that she protected him. Probably a little too much. “Lottie, it took a very skilled private investigator—the best I’ve ever seen—to find out your true identity. Why would anyone I work with ever find that out?”
She paused. Then she said softly, “Because the threat of my brothers outing me is very real. Look atthissituation. You might not be able to control what is found out and what is not.”
“Whatever is found out, whatever is not, doesn’t matter,” he told her. “Whatever happens, we face it. Together. End of story.”
She leaned up on his chest, gave him a cute little glare. “Do you really think you’ll keep getting promoted up the ranks if your girlfriend is related to the family of one of the biggest drug operations in Chicago?”
He got her worry, he did. But… “In the force, there are dirty cops. There are wives that have cheated, husbands that have cheated. There are cops who make bad decisions every single day. Those are things people frown upon. If someone punishes you for the actions of your family, then they are notourpeople and will not be in our lives. I don’t give a fuck what they think.”
She stared at him for a long moment, hesitation written all over her face. “You want to become police chief one day. I’ve heard you talk about it.”
“You’re right, I do,” he agreed, running his fingers along her spine.
“Don’t you see the problem there?” she countered. “Stuff like this always has a way of coming out.”
He cupped her chin, drawing her gaze to his. “You’re acting like you’re a drug dealer yourself. Are you?”
She snorted a laugh. “Of course not.”
“Then we’ll tell people who matter the most—my superiors—the truth of the situation when the time comes. I’m not saying we should hide it. I’m saying wedealwith it.” Leaning forward, he kissed the worry spot on her brow. “Not that I think we need to, by the way, but if this is truly a concern, then let’s put it to bed. Trust me, this will not be a problem.”
Her expression told him she didn’t believe him, but she let it go and said, “Leo will hurt you if you get in the way of what he wants.”
Staring into her soul through her eyes, he dragged his fingers along her jaw. “Is that what really worries you?”
“Well, that, and you putting your career on the line.”
How sweet was she? He cupped her cheek, relishing in how she leaned into his touch. He’d waited for this moment. Fuck, he’d fought for this moment. Nothing would get in the way of them now. “I think you’re forgetting I deal with criminals every day, Lottie. I’ll be careful.”
She nibbled her lip for a moment but eventually moved along, obviously trusting him, and said, more of a statement than a question, “Archer revoked my membership.”
“For now, I’m afraid he’s left with little choice,” he explained gently, resting his arm behind his head. “I’d put my money on him being more pissed that his vetting didn’t reveal your past than him being upset with you. But he also knows he has Elise now vetting members, and this would never happen again.”
