“It’s 10:30. We have plenty of time before we need to meet your brother,” Ace placed little kisses on her bare shoulder. Daisy had never felt more relaxed or satisfied in her life, especially since Luke’s accident. Daisy wiggled around until she was laying on her back beside Ace. He continued to place little kisses on her bare skin. She laid still watching him kissing her for a few moments. Then she giggled.
“Ace if you keep that up, we will be late to meet Luke,” Daisy laughed as he started to tickle her. She squealed as he continued tickle her. Once he finally released her, she glared at him for a moment. “What was that for?”
“I love hearing you laugh. You are always so serious, sad even, but this is music to my ears,” Ace said as he lowered his mouth to hers. When he broke the kiss, he moved his mouth down her chest. After he had finished playing, he pulled her next to his body. She could feel his semi-hard erection against her ass.
“I love you, Daisy,” Ace settled himself around her body and placed a kiss on top of her head. He briefly tightened his arms around her. Daisy smiled to herself.
“I love you, Ace. I don’t deserve this, but I want it and I will fight to keep it,” Daisy declared with conviction. Ace chuckled briefly.
“I will fight for us, too Sweetheart,” Ace said quietly. After laying in comfortable silence for a while, Ace told Daisy they needed to get in the shower so they could get ready to meet Luke.
“Ace, we have plenty of time,” Daisy whined.
“Not if we have shower sex. You ever done that?” Ace asked.
“Um…No I can’t say that I have. Have you?” Daisy careened her head around to look at him.
“No, but I want to try it out, so come on. Let’s get to it.” Ace got up and reached for her hand. He pulled her to her feet.
“God Ace, you are a sex fiend. How many times did you wake me up last night? I lost count,” Daisy chuckled as they headed for the bathroom.
“I didn’t count sweetheart, but if I think about it, I’m sure I can remember. I have committed every moment to memory. Three, not counting a few minutes ago,” Ace laughed at the shocked expression on Daisy’s face. “I’m sorry hon, are you sore, hurting?”
“No, Ace. I’ve just never had this much sex in such a short time before. It’s always only been once then as soon as he was asleep, I was out the door going home. I have never spent the night with a lover before, and I have never brought anyone to my home,” Daisy confessed passionately. “You should count yourself special. You are the only man to have ever slept in my bed. I know we didn’t have sex, but it was special to me.”
“I am honored that you allowed me to sleep with you in your bed, Daisy. It was special for me as well. I had never spent a whole night with a woman. I hope to spend many more with you. You are special to me, Daisy. Don’t ever doubt how I feel about you. Now let’s get in the shower. I need to clean you before I defile you again,” Ace chuckled as he turned on the shower.
They emerged an hour later and dressed to meet Luke. They went to a restaurant and had a late breakfast. They drove down by the beach and took a walk along the shore hand in hand. They talked about their likes and dislikes on every topic from music, movies, and books to more serious topics like politics and religion. As time drew near for their meeting with Luke, they made their way back to the SUV.
They made the short drive to Jay’s. Luke was already there waiting for them. He waved them over as soon as they walked in the door. They made their way across the bar and joined him. Daisy bent over and gave Luke a hug and kiss before taking her seat. Ace shook Luke’s hand and took a seat next to Daisy.
“Man, Daisy you look good today. You are practically glowing. I don’t think I have ever seen you so happy and relaxed.” Luke asserted. “What has gotten into you?”
“I don’t know what you mean Luke. I’m just me,” Daisy said with mock shock, as she tried to hide the blush flooding her face as she recalled what she and Ace had been doing the last 12 hours. Luke looked at her hard for a moment then it was like realization hit him and his face lit up. He didn’t say anything but continued to smile as he waved a waitress over.
When they had ordered, they settled into an easy conversation. Luke told them more about his business as an identity theft specialist and security agent. His company helped people get their lives back on track after having their identity stolen. They also provided security services to their customers such as body guard and escort services. He told Daisy about a case he was working on at the moment. The poor woman had lost everything as someone had worked systematically to destroy her life. She had lost her home, car, credit, and most recently her job. He had even taken her into his home until he could get everything straightened out for her. Daisy felt uneasy about Luke having a stranger in his home, but after all he was a grown man. She couldn’t stop him.
Daisy informed Luke about her 2 months leave and how she was hoping to have part of it rescinded. “I have no idea what I would do for 2 whole months. Work is my life.” Daisy stated as a matter of fact.
“Daisy I thought you and I had discussed this. You are taking the whole leave. I’m sure we can find something to do,” Ace said coyly as he looked at her with heat in his eyes. Daisy felt her face blush at his insinuation. She fidgeted nervously in her seat. She felt his hand come to rest on her thigh, making her jump.
“Ace, you only have a week or so off before you will be required to be back. We both know you could be called away at a moment’s notice. What am I supposed to do while you are off saving the world?” Daisy huffed.
“You are a smart woman. You can find something to occupy your time,” Luke interjected before they got into a full-blown argument. Daisy laughed softly. “You could come up here and help me out at my business. I can always use someone to help with errands and leg work, pun intended.” Luke laughed at his own joke. Daisy scowled at him as she didn’t think it was funny.
“Luke, do you really think I could be of help to you? I don’t know that much about computers,” Daisy related. “What could you expect me to do?”
“Daisy I don’t just use computers. I sometimes need someone to check out addresses, employers, and utility companies. You could answer the phone, get the mail, and any number of things to help me. We would get to spend time together, just like old times. I would really love to have you come stay with me anytime Ace is out of pocket.” Luke gave her a pleading look.
“Okay, Luke I’ll think about it. Now, I need to go to the ladies’ room, if you gentlemen will excuse me,” Daisy started to scoot her chair back, but Ace was right there helping her. She just smiled at him and whispered a quite thank you. Once she was gone, he settled back into his chair.
“Ace, I can’t thank you enough for the smile I see on Daisy’s face. I haven’t seen her this happy since long before my accident,” Luke said, sincerely. “I have tried so hard over the years to make her understand it wasn’t her fault. I have never blamed Daisy for what happened, but she refuses to let it go. I’m thinking you will be able to help her get past it and for that I thank you. I love my sister and all I want is for her to be happy.”
“You don’t have to thank me, Luke. I am the lucky one here,” Ace replied. “I knew the first time I saw her that she was a special woman and she was going to change my life. I wanted to make her mine. I promise to do my best to make sure she is happy, healthy, and safe. I love her. I know you will think it’s too soon. We’ve only known each other a few months, but I know what is in my heart,” Ace made his declaration. “I plan to marry her when she’s ready, with your blessing of course.”
“You have it Ace. I can see you are an honorable man. I am happy she has found a good man. The fact that you are a Marine is just icing on the cake,” Luke grinned at his new friend. “I know it will be difficult at times the way you have to be gone and the danger you face every time you leave, but you both deserve to be happy. I hope that she will be done with her death wish now that she has someone to live for.”
“What do you mean, Luke? What makes you think she has a death wish?” Aces asked concerned for the woman he had come to love more than his own life.
