No, definitely, sex wouldn’t be an issue. My body had already decided, primed for action. I could smell the omega pregnancy pheromones in the air; there was a subtle hint ofvanilla fragrance. My suppressant wasn’t blocking that part of the scent spectrum, but it was definitely blocking Kay’s pheromonal Allure. For this reason, I didn’t know if we were High Mates, Half Mates, Low Mates, or… incompatible, and it didn’t matter.

The faint note of jasmine, probably coming from his shower gel, was sweet and fresh. Was it imitating his natural Allure? It was often the case that people enhanced their natural fragrances with cosmetics. In any case, I loved the scent filling the room; this, and the whole sexually charged aura here, was enough to make my cock stir.

"Kay, we brought Rain, just like we agreed," Adam said, sitting beside him and taking his hand.

"I know. I’ve got eyes," Kay snapped, his voice cold. He pulled his hand away and stared back up at the ceiling.

Adam bit his lip, glancing at me. "You can still change your mind. But he’s here for you. Just like you asked."

I pulled myself out of the trance long enough to nod: yes, of course, I wasin. At this point, I really hoped he wouldn’t change his mind. My body was already fully invested. The scent was insanely intense, sweet and intoxicating. His brothers were completely oblivious to the whole other level of information I could access as an alpha, like an extra world existing beyond what could be explored with eyes. My nose opened me to so much more. Poor betas. They couldn’t smell even a fraction of it, even though it filled the entire room like a potent perfume.

My gaze wandered over his body, and he noticed. I wasn’t exactly being subtle, not on purpose, just… mesmerized. Like staring at a rare orchid, too enchanted to look away.

And then it just happened: instinct took over, and I couldn’t stop it. I made an AO-typical mating call calledAppreciation. The second it escaped me, I cleared my throat and blushed, but it was too late. The sound filled the room.

Kay flinched slightly but didn’t answer with a responding sound. He was clearly stressed or angry, emotions like that could block instinctual reactions. Or maybe… maybe he just wasn’t attracted to me? That was always a possibility.

"What was that?" Marco mumbled.

Kay shrugged, somehow managing it while lying flat on his back.

"Nothing worth worrying about. Just basic AO crap," he muttered.

Adam coughed awkwardly. Betas couldn’t really pick up on many AO mating sounds; their hearing just wasn’t as sharp. The most sexual part of the sound spectrum of alpha-omega love-and-lust language frequency was basically out of their range.

"Alrighty then… so. Rain’s staying, correct? Did I get that right?" Adam asked.

"Yeah. A deal’s a deal. He stays. But you two should go. You’re not sticking around to watch this circus, that’s for sure," Kay said, his voice sharp with bitterness, almost like the words hurt to say. I stared at the floor, feeling the weight of just how weird and awkward this whole situation was.

Adam tried once more, gently squeezing his hand. "We’ll go. But remember, you can call it off anytime, okay?"

Kay rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Now get out. Let’s just get this over with."

Adam and Marco slowly filed out, both giving me sideways glances filled with doubt, but I ignored them. My focus was already locked on the young omega.

I had been standing quietly by the wall the whole time, trying to be respectful, but the second they left, something changed. Something inside me ignited. Kay’s aura, his scent, had already rewired something fundamental in me. My initial hesitation and doubt suddenly seemed small, pointless. It waslike someone had flipped a switch in me. I wasn’t overthinking anymore.

I moved toward the bed like a man starving for something long denied. My body felt focused and alert, my steps fluid, almost predatory.

My voice came out rough, low.

"Hey, Kay. I hope it’s not—"

"Don’t talk," he interrupted. "Just do what you came here to do."

Adam and Marco had warned me that Kay might be withdrawn or emotionally closed off, but they hadn’t said anything about him being outright hostile. Still, I tried not to take it personally. I could only imagine what he was going through. But after what just happened, after seeing him, sensing him, there was nothing that could make me turn back. Not unless Kay said the one thing that would stop me:No.

I’d already formed a plan in my head, maybe too quickly, but it felt solid. I was going to make this as good for both of us as I could, possibly even easing some of the strict restrictions around what we’d agreed to.

So I sat on the edge of the bed. The mattress shifted slightly under my weight, making his body rock just a bit.

That’s when I saw it: his cheeks flushing a little deeper. He must’ve realized what was happening now. That I was real. That I was here. The arrangement had begun.

I noticed his nostrils twitch slightly as he caught my scent. He couldn’t sense my Allure, but the rest of my smell was still easily accessible. Suppressants didn’t erase all body scents, only a narrow spectrum of them: the compatibility pheromones. That’s why I could pick up his pregnancy scent, and I’d be able to smell his heat if he were in one, while he could still catch the scent of my sweat or rut. We could also sense the scent of arousal, our pre-cum, or his slick.

My eyes wandered over his body, deciding where to start. I didn’t say anything else; he made it clear he wasn’t in the mood for conversation.

With a slow, leisurely motion, I stroked his forearm. The moment my fingers touched his body, a strange tingle shot up through my fingers, intense and electric.
