16 Bye/Later,
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
In the morning,Luka found himself with his face pressed against Reno’s back and his entire body pleasantly sore. He peeled away from Reno, searching for his phone to check the time, and was happy to see he’d somewhat adjusted to London time.
He propped himself up on his elbow and looked down at Reno’s profile, his sleep-subdued features, his hair tangled and stuck to his cheek, and couldn’t believe it, still, that this was his life. He felt like he was living in a fantasy, a life that someone else deserved. He had been so scared to come here, to let himself lie in Reno’s bed and to trust that Reno really wanted him, but when Reno stirred in his sleep and let out a long sigh, Luka knew the smile growing on Reno’s lips was just for him.
“Ohayo?1.” Reno peeked an eye open, “Ima nanji?2?”
Luka squeezed his eyes shut trying to process, “Um, hachi-ji… fifteen-fun? ”
“Ju go-fun?3. Adorable.” Reno poked Luka’s cheek and said, “Too early. Wake me up after ten.”
“That’s almost two hours from now. If you want to go to Stonehenge with me, you gotta be out the door by then.”
“So da ne?4, one hour then.” Reno buried himself in the blankets and Luka almost caved.
“Han.”
“Sanjuppun?5.” Reno peeked over the comforter. “Only use 'han' when attach to hour. It means 'half’,not thirty.”
“Hai, sensei?6.” Luka smirked as Reno’s eyes went wide before burying himself back into the blankets. “I’m going on a run. You’re getting up when I’m back.”
“Morning people are awful,” Reno mumbled from under the covers and Luka huffed a laugh before finding suitable clothes to run in and heading into the cool morning. The weather showed promising signs of warming up as the days crept closer to summer.
Luka felt alive for the first time in years.
He had energy reserves to pull from, he’d barely smoked since he landed in London, and his mind felt clear for once. As he got into the rhythm of running, he felt so grateful to be somewhere so beautiful, so interesting, that he seriously started to wonder if he would ever really go back home.
If he did, maybe it wouldn’t be for long. It was getting harder by the moment to picture being without Reno by his side, without his life full of laughter and gentle kisses, without being dazed when he woke and the most beautiful man in the world told him, “Good morning”.
Reno had a mug of coffee waiting for Luka when he returned, and when he pressed himself against Luka’s side and breathed him in, Luka wondered what he’d been doing with his life before.
“You taste good," Reno purred in his ear after licking a long stripe up Luka’s neck. “Wanna drip sweat into my coffee? Could really enhance the flavor.”
“You’re disgusting.” Luka let Reno mouth at his neck for a moment longer before pushing him away. “Shower with me?”
