Luka openly stared at Reno’s collarbone, the slope and dip of it beautiful in the lamplight. “What would you be doing?”

Reno huffed a laugh and trailed a finger over Luka’s neck. “I do some working out. Practice dance. Get warm.” He pressed into Luka’s throat, making Luka squirm. “You could help me, today.”

“Christ," Luka swore. “I don’t know how to dance.”

“I can teach.” Reno moved over him, pushing the blankets away and knocking Luka’s legs to the side.

Luka rolled onto his back, still feeling like he was in a dream as he took in the sight of Reno over him. “What am I learning?”

Reno hummed thoughtfully. “I could use a partner for Tango. I have been practicing.”

Luka laughed. “Really, the Tango?” Then he watched as Reno pouted and it was so cute, Luka thought he’d faint from it.

“Really. I am serious!” Reno said, “I need a partner. I like to follow more than lead and it is no fun always dancing with women. Why can’t I get to do the woman part? I like to wear dresses and spin around.”

“Oh my god.” Luka couldn’t help but laugh again and Reno only pouted harder. “You are—” He lost the words, not able to find something to summarize all of Reno.

Reno tilted his head and his hair brushed Luka’s face, tickling him.

“I don’t know. Surprising, but not at all.”

“That doesn’t make a lot of sense,” Reno said and gave up on holding himself up over Luka, squeezing them together and all their bare skin connecting made it even more difficult to think.

Luka brushed Reno’s hair away from his face where it had draped over him. “I know. It’s hard to put into words what I’m thinking, sometimes. I find you"—he paused, still seeking how to express all of this insanity— “maddening.”

Reno pulled himself up onto an elbow, looking concerned. “I make you angry?”

“No." Luka pulled him back down and Reno let him. “Like, ‘madness’ as in ‘crazy.’ Going mad. I can’t wrap my mind aroundthis.” He wrapped his arms around Reno and held him tightly. “Can I say something unhinged?”

“Of course.” Reno turned his head to press his face against Luka’s neck.

“Hm…" Luka fought with himself, wondering if he should really say the next words. “I feel like I already know you. Like, there’s all these facts about you I don’t know but I—” Luka trailed off, still struggling.

“Heart," Reno said when Luka didn’t finish his sentence.

“Hm?”

“It knows.”

Luka turned his head and saw Reno, the full force of his attention fixed on Luka, and his eyes were so dark they looked black. Reno’s intensity almost frightened him, but he felt himself match, knowing, somewhere between the layers of doubts and insecurity, that Reno believed what he said.

“How?” Luka said, so quietly he wasn’t sure if he could be heard.

Reno’s lips turned upwards but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. “I don’t know. I stop asking questions when things feel like that.”

“Dangerous,” Luka replied. “You’re asking me to believe in something impossible.”

“I’m asking nothing from you.” Reno almost looked hurt and Luka wondered if he was messing this up. “You give me nothing you don’t want to give, okay?”

Luka nodded and Reno’s eyes flicked down to his lips before moving closer. The kiss he placed there was firm, determined, and when Luka folded into it, Reno softened slightly. When he pulled away and propped himself up on his hands, his expression was searching.

He asked, “What will you give me, Luka?”

Luka swallowed, wondering the same. “Tonight. Tomorrow. Maybe, the days after. I’m not sure.”

Reno observed him for a few moments, his gaze dropping to Luka’s throat, his chest, then lower. He didn’t reply but Luka could see his body respond to what he saw.

Luka thought it only fair to ask, “What will you give me?”
