“I guess it’s time to re-read it,” the man snickered, making the woman burst into a soft, melodic laugh.

The elevator dinged at the next floor. The employees stepped out, leaving the lift silent and empty. Mia exhaled, finally able to relax to her full height, peeling herself away from Alexander’s chest. A soft laugh escaped her lips, amused.

Alexander’s face was heated, intense, a stark contrast to her light laughter. He stepped closer, his eyes locking on hers, and leaned in, lips moving toward hers. Mia instinctively placed her hand over his mouth, halting him. “Stop,” she murmured. “People could come in.”

Alexander’s expression softened slightly, a faint, teasing smile curving his lips, undeterred. He took her wrist gently, lowering it to his lips and pressing a trail of heated kisses along her arm, up to her shoulder, and finally back to hers.

Mia pushed him lightly, voice trembling with urgency and desire. “Mr. Graves! Not here in the elevator!” Her cheeks flamed crimson.

“What are you afraid of?” Alexander murmured, slipping his hands to cradle the back of her head, keeping her pressed close. “We’re married, Mia.”

Mia’s lips pressed into a thin line. “It’s not a real marriage yet.”

Alexander’s expression darkened instantly, jaw tightening, disbelief flashing across his face. He stepped back, eyes never leaving hers, before storming out of the elevator without another word.

Mia remained behind, pulse hammering in her chest. She rushed to follow him but paused, glancing at the elevator cameras. Her lips parted as a small, urgent whisper escaped. “Mr. Graves… maybe we should get those cameras checked… make sure those videos of you kissing me are deleted.”

Without waiting for a response, she followed him into the office, her steps quick and uneven. “Mr. Graves… we haven’t even had—”

Alexander stopped abruptly, spinning to face her. She stumbled, almost colliding with his chest, and he caught her by the shoulders, holding her steady. His eyes dark, intense, piercing. “What do you mean?”

Mia hesitated, voice trembling slightly. “I mean… we shouldn’t kiss… at the office. It’s not—?”

Alexander’s dark gaze swept over her, the heat in his dark eyes making her shiver. “A kiss?” His voice dropped low, thick with desire. “Didn’t you enjoy it?”

Mia blinked, taken aback, a shiver running through her. His voice sounded so intense, so intimate, that it made her pulse quicken.

Alexander stepped closer, lowering his voice to a growl. “Every night, when I fuck you in my bed, I see your face. Every time I kiss you… I feel how much you enjoy it. And I know exactly how much you enjoyed the one I just gave you in the elevator.”

Mia’s hands flew up to cover her flushed face, a mix of mortification and desire. “Mr. Graves… stop talking about it!”

She spun around quickly, intent on leaving the office, but Alexander caught her wrist before she could take another step. In one swift motion, he pulled her back and pinned her against his desk, his body closing in on hers, his breath warm against her cheek.

“I love every kiss I place on you,” he growled. His eyes dragged down her curves, hungry, unhurried. “Everywhere my mouth touches… I love it.” His voice deepened. “And I want more.”

He lifted the hand resting on her hip, dragging it upward with agonizing slowness. His fingers traced the curve of her waist… skimmed the side of her breast… and slid higher, brushing the fabric deliberately. Mia’s breath hitched; her chest rose and fell shakily.

“It doesn’t matter,” Alexander murmured, voice low, rough, and dangerously controlled. “It doesn’t matter what you think—whether you believe our marriage is real or not. Your thoughts don’t change a damn thing.”

His fingers curled tightly against her ribs, pulling her closer as he leaned in, his breath brushing her cheek, warm enough to make her knees weaken.

“But don’t ever,” he whispered, each word sharp as a blade, “fucking think about telling anyone that what we have isn’t real.”

He stepped forward, closing the tiny space between their bodies until her back pressed harder into the desk behind her. His eyes, dark and intense behind his glasses, held her like iron shackles.

“Every moment you’re in my bed, you’re mine.” His voice dropped, heavy with heat. “Every time I touch you… every time I want you—” he leaned lower, his lips grazing the shell of her ear, “—I want you thinking about nothing except how you’re going to breathe the next time I make you moan my name.”

He caged her completely, palms flat on the desk on either side of her hips, his arms forming a barrier she couldn’t slip through. His forehead hovered a whisper away from hers, his scent, his warmth, his presence overwhelming her senses.

“Stop thinking about useless things,” he murmured, his breath brushing her lips. “Because you’re never getting out of my grasp ever again.”

Her whole body trembled; her heart pounded so violently it felt like it echoed in the silent office. She tried to look away, but his shadow fell over her, pulling her gaze right back to him.

“And,” he added, quiet and dangerous, “don’t even think about looking up that fanfiction. Do you understand?”

Mia’s eyes flew wide open, shock ripping through her. ‘How did he know I was thinking about that?!’

She swallowed hard, lips parting—but no words came out. She didn’t dare say anything. One wrong word and she knew she’d get herself into deeper trouble.
