When I flooded her throat with my come, she took it, but when my come continued to spurt, her hands pushed me back.

I pulled back and thick come, spit, and God knows what erupted out of her mouth. It landed all over her face, dripping down her forehead and hair down to the floor.

Her lips were covered, pink, white and swollen. She wheezed and coughed, but she was smiling, wiping away tears from her eyes.

“That was fun,” she gasped.

“Will you marry me, Juliette?”

I never meant to blurt it out like that, but it was too late. I dropped to my knees, pulling Grammy’s ring out.

She gaped at me before trying to pull herself up. I helped her up and handed her some tissues before settling in front of her.

“I’ve never gone down on my knees for anyone,” I murmured, holding up the ring.

It had the fat diamonds resting in gold. Not the kind of gold you get nowadays, pale and diluted. This was rich, deep and bright.

She wiped her eyes, but as soon as she could see clearly, her eyes were on the ring.

“It’s a family heirloom,” I said uncomfortably. Perhaps she didn't like it.

“Did you give it to your ex?” she asked softly.

My head snapped up.

“Grammy never gave me this ring until she came around the other day. She wore it until the day of my Grandpa’s funeral.”

I guess Grammy knew that Nadine wasn't the one before I did.

“Grammy,” she sighed. “No one can go against her will. I give up.”

She flung one hand against her come-smeared forehead while shoving her hand out to me.

Fuck it.

I’d take that as yes. I slid the ring on her finger with my genitalia exposed and her appetiser smeared all over her.

It was a flawless proposal.

Operation Secure the Wife was almost complete.

Chapter 24

Juliette

Three Weeks Later

The sheriff was a freak of nature. He eventually agreed to wait until I passed the three-month mark to break the news about the baby and the wedding. Until then, the engagement ring was to be worn on a chain around my neck—for him to check nightly. He was so crazy that he took my breath away.

I decided to treat him like someone with a disability, which helped me manage him so much better.

The door opened and Cathryn walked in, waving at me in her usual excitement.

I stood to give her a kiss and cuddle before handing her the drink.

She was about to take a sip when she saw it.

She screamed.
