Lana slapped Kurt on the back of the head. “I don’t want to hear anything else about your sperm. I’m your mother.”

At that point, I couldn’t hold the giggles in. “We definitely need to work on our delivery when we tell other people.”

“Yeah. Yeah, we do.” Kurt was all smiles when I glanced up at his face.

Lana held out her arms to me, and I walked into them, loving how welcoming they felt. “How are you feeling?”

“Good. I’m tired and have been sleeping a lot. That’s the only symptom I have.”

“And snoring,” Kurt added.

Lana hit Kurt in the stomach. “Be nice. You did this.”

I giggled. Yes, yes, I’ve won.

Kurt sighed. “I see how this is going to go. Two against one.”

“Yes, that’s exactly how it’s going to go. Bam! Boom shakalaka.” I started dancing around in victory with my hands in the air.

Groaning, Kurt raked his hands through his hair. “Don’t jiggle the baby.”

“Lana, please tell him I am not jiggling his baby.”

She snickered. “I’m staying out of that one. Can I be called Gigi?”

Kurt grew quiet and smiled, so I said, “I think Gigi would be perfect.”

“Me, too.” Kurt echoed.

His mom looked at the picture again. “I can’t wait to meet this little person. I can’t wait to tell my sister.”

Oh no. I came up short, wondering how Kurt would address that. But he was on it as he grew serious. “Mom, you can’t tell anyone. Not right now.”

“Not even Aunt Margaret?”

He shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck. “No, no one. I need to control when this becomes public knowledge. This story could snowball on us, and we don’t need any added stress.”

Realization dawned in Lana’s eyes. Being tied to a megastar had its complications. Not much in our lives remained private. “I understand. I promise I won’t say a word.”

“I know, Mom.”

After a few more minutes of staring at the picture, she said, “When you do make the announcement, make it sweet. Do not say you got Sawyer pregnant because you have super sperm.”

My word, I love this family. Here was a family I would be forever tied to. And one that wanted me, too.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Sawyer

On our last day off, I sat on the bus with my organizer. That evening, we would hit the road for Salt Lake City. The next day, we’d set up for the next concert. It never seemed to stop. Thank goodness I had been ultra-organized prior to the tour and the pregnancy. That skill had allowed me to take the last few days and adjust.

My chart was open, and I searched for where we would fit in the doctor’s appointments. Kurt came up the steps to the bus, sweaty from his run with George. “Hey, it’s my two favorite guys. How’d it go?”

“Good. I think I wore him out.”

“Aw, you’re such a good boy, George. We need to start training him soon.”

There was a glimmer in Kurt’s eye. “Sounds good.”
