The man didn’t move, he froze in fact, but he didn’t look away from her. The blonde beside him was only now realizing what Jordyn was doing and she began to voice her displeasure.
“Who is she? Your girlfriend or something?” She asked with narrowed eyes.
“No. Never seen her before,” he replied, and Jordyn blamed the rich timbre of his voice that was all bass tones and smoothness that she felt in a way the bass beat of the music couldn't hope to match. Though she had little time to dwell on how pleasant the man’s voice made her feel.
Never seen her before.
Ah, yes, that. She was a stranger and what she was doing was insane. She hadn’t really considered what to do after touching him Hell, she hadn’t even thought about touching him in the first place. She had just gone on instinct, and now, it was like time had stopped. She knew in her gut that if she didn’t do something fast the man was going to disappear with the blonde. Her moment of boldness would be remembered by him as an odd girl doing odd things, and that was if he even remembered her at all. She refused to have her night end that way. She couldn’t let it go that way.
Thinking had never gotten her anywhere special, so Jordyn didn’t think now. She acted. Reaching out she grabbed his leather jacket by the lapels and pulled him close. She half expected him not to move but her moment of insanity was rewarded when the sexy stranger came with her without so much as a backward glance at the women he had just been dancing with.
She licked her lips and stared up at him, taking another step backward. The man matched her movement, and she felt her stomach do a flip-flop. What in the ever loving blazes was she supposed to do now?! This must be what dogs that chased cars would feel like if they ever managed to catch the damn thing. Jordyn barely had time to mull over her shared predicament with overzealous canines when her attention was pulled back to the mystery man.
His hands touched her sides with surprising gentleness, and she almost tripped over her own feet at the first feel of his hands on her. It wasn’t her breast, but hell this was more than enough to make her feel dizzy. His hands then slid down further to firmly grab her ass. There was nothing gentle about the way he was touching her now, and Jordyn knew her eyes had gone wide with shock when she saw him smirk at her.
She couldn’t let him gain the upper hand so fast, not this early in the night. Jordyn rallied herself to recover from looking so wide-eyed, tossed her hair over her shoulder with far more sass than she actually possessed, and was thankful for the whiskey that was still warm on her lips. She placed her hands on his wrists and pushed her hips into him in encouragement, and she did it all while staring him in the eyes. It was hard to pull off without wanting to bolt, but she was glad she had done it because that meant she got to see the need bloom in his blue eyes—got to watch those eyes warm up and heat the man in front of her through and through. She wouldn’t have traded seeing that for the world.
His hands tightened against her, pulling her more firmly against him, and she knew he was going to kiss her. She needed him to. Jordyn slid her hands up his neck and finally fulfilled her wish to kiss the sexy stranger. She ran her fingers along his jaw, through the scruff of his beard, and leaned forward to run her tongue along his bottom lip. He groaned, hands flexing and fingers digging into her. Her heart began to hammer in her chest because yes, he was going to kiss her, and not only did she need it but so did he.
Jordyn decided it was heaven to be needed by someone.
Chapter Three
Kissingsomeone that she’d never spoken a single word to was by far the wildest anything Jordyn had ever done in her life. The thrill of it had her blood singing and she decided right then and there that if this was what throwing caution to the wind was like she was going to do a whole hell of a lot more of it.
Jordyn pulled back from her mystery man and felt a flush spread across her cheeks under the heated look in his eyes. God, just looking at how his jaw clenched as he stared down at her like she was the only person that existed in the crowded club was so fucking sexy. This kind of attention wasn’t something Jordyn was used to having directed at her and it was a heady feeling. She was fairly sure she was willing to go to desperate lengths to keep him looking at her like she was a goddess. She was also fairly sure that she would enjoy every last second of those desperate lengths.
The man slid a hand under Jordyn’s leather jacket, his fingers catching at the thin material of her tank and a second later, his fingers slid underneath, stroking a white-hot path up her side. Jordyn’s body immediately reacted to the touch of his fingers, fingers that were moving higher and higher until they brushed the underside of her breast. Her breath caught and she almost laughed at the turn of events. Earlier that day when she had planned to come here, to find someone and do this, she had somehow not believed it would happen, but here she was.
“If I’m going to hell,” she whispered, her voice lost in the thrum of the loud music. Her plan was coming along nicely, okay way more than nicely. And with one kiss to whet her appetite, she wanted another taste of him. Jordyn leaned forward and pulled his head down to kiss him again, but the second their mouths met she realized one important thing: she was out of her league.
For all her planning and anticipation of what was to come, Jordyn wasn’t prepared for the moment that the sexy stranger actually returned her kiss. Her initial kiss a few seconds before had clearly caught him by surprise and he had let her do what she wanted, which was mostly take it slow and easy, but now that he was getting a second opportunity, the man wasn’t wasting it. His arms came up, tightening around her. The hand under her tank moved flat against her back and pushed her into him while his other hand buried itself in her hair. His mouth slanted to hers, and the passion he put into their kiss had Jordyn feeling overwhelmed.
She thought she knew what a good kiss was. She thought Alex was a wonderful kisser, but then again, she had thought he was honest.Jordyn had been very wrong on both accounts. Or maybe it was that there was good kissing and then there was filthy kissing, and this man was doing the latter with the sheer lust he was putting into that single kiss.
The hand in her hair dropped to curl around the back of her neck, his fingertips digging lightly into her skin while his tongue moved against hers. He was fully exploring her mouth, kissing her deeply while the hand at her back had moved to take hold of her firmly by her front belt loops, which he used to pull her hips flush to his. She moaned and had just wrapped her arms around his neck to get closer to him when a body slammed into her, nearly knocking her from his arms. Jordyn let out a cry as she braced herself for impact, but it never happened. Her stranger’s arms caught her and pulled her against him before she could fall to the floor. He turned them so that his body was between her and whatever had caused her to fall while she moved to look around his shoulder to see what happened.
It was a fight, she saw, a wild fight that was quickly spreading to the crowd around them because as anyone knew, drunk people fighting usually meant a bigger fight. What had most likely begun as a misunderstanding between two people soon turned into a small brawl between several people. Jordyn flinched against her stranger when a swing went wild and came a bit too close to her for her liking.
“Time to go.” Her stranger’s lips brushed against her ear when he bent to speak to her. She shivered at the touch and the fight was now just a footnote of her night because she was back to wondering what it would feel like to have his mouth on other parts of her body. He was walking them towards the entrance, his back to the fight, eyes on the exit, and hands firmly guiding her away from the dance floor.
“What?” Jordyn asked. She blinked and forced herself away from her X-rated thoughts long enough to look up at him.
He ran a hand down her face, his fingers paused just under her chin, and said, “It’s too dangerous here now. We’re leaving.”
Jordyn nodded at his words. “Yeah, okay.” She felt dazed and restless at the same time. Adrenaline coursed painfully through her body from coming so close to the fight. She felt out of sorts, so she let him take her hand and lead her out into the night.Jordyn blushed when the bouncer gave them a knowing grin on their way past. Her stranger gave the bouncer a nod and slipped his arm around Jordyn’s waist, pulling her against him.
“My bike’s this way,” he said, leading them further away from the building. Jordyn wanted to ask what kind of bike it was, and when he had started riding, but she simply nodded. She was pretty sure acting like a lovesick fan girl wasn’t the way to keep in step with her edgier persona for tonight. He led them to a bike that was all shiny chrome, even in the dim parking lot lights, and she froze, giving the bike a once over. She’d never been this close to one and had certainly never been on one. The thought of it was a little scary now that she was standing right in front of it.
And then there was the fact that she was going home with the owner of the said scary, but absolutely cool bike. She cautioned a look up at the man next to her and took a deep breath. She was really and truly doing this.
“Where do you live?” he asked.
Jordyn ran a shaky hand through her hair while her mystery man pulled a helmet out from a bag at the side of the bike and approached her.
“On fourth, near the center of town...are...uh,” Jordyn fumbled over her words as he snapped the strap of the helmet securely under her chin. “I mean, you’re coming up right?”
“Oh yeah.” He winked at her and stepped forward until his body crowded hers and Jordyn found herself pressed back against the bike. He leaned close, standing between her legs, put a hand on either side of where she sat, and gave her a once over. “That’s what you want, isn’t it?”
