I point the pistol at him and gesture towards the couch. “I said, sit the fuck down.”
“Oh fuck. Oh shit,” Addie whimpers. “Boss, please-”
“Be quiet, Addie. I’m talking to your brother. Ain't’ that right, Tony?”
“Y-yeah, sure. We’re talkin’. It’s fine, Addie.” He moves towards the couch slowly and sinks down next to his dirty clothes and blankets. We are all quiet for a second before I see him tense as he glares at Addie. His eyes are on the laptop in her hands. “I fucking knew you’d sell me out. Weak, Addie. Real fucking weak.”
“What are you talking about? I didn’t- I didn’t do-”
He points a finger at the laptop she holds. “Don’t you stand there and tell me you didn’t do it when he’s here. You knew! You knew what I did and I know he’s here because you opened your fucking mouth. You think helping him get her back is gonna save you?”
Theherhas me crossing the space between us in a few steps. There is only oneherin my world. Addie’s brother knowing that tells me I’ve made the right call to come see her.
“What the fuck did you say?” I bark.
“You stupid bitch! You’re going to get both of us killed for some bitch that doesn’t even-” I raise the pistol and Addie screams, but it is just to bash the butt of it into Tony’s mouth. He falls back, hands coming up to cover his mouth that is now pouring blood. I won’t be surprised if he lost a tooth.
Addie screams. “Law, please! Stop!”
I ignore her. I hadn’t even stopped for Honey when she’d begged for someone’s life. Addie’s fear doesn’t mean anything to me. “Doesn’t evenwhat?” I growl, grabbing his shirt in a fist and shaking him. “Finish that fucking sentence.”
He thrashes in my hold. “You b-broke my tooth!”
“I’ll do more than that if you don’t fucking answer me.” I tighten my grip on his shirt, twisting the collar up until it cuts off his air. “What the hell do you know?”
“N-nothing!”
“Lie to me and I’ll put a bullet in you.”
“Law!” Addie shrieks.
“Be quiet, Addie. I’m fucking working.”
“But he’s m-my brother.” Her voice cracks in a plea but I don't take my eyes off Tony. I know better than to do that. That’s how you end up in the morgue with a knife in your gut that some low rent rookie put there. I never underestimate who I am fucking with, even if they are as worthless as Addie’s brother.
“I’m sure he knocks you ‘round, too. Doesn’t he? Don’t you want to see him scared for once?” I ask, bringing the gun up to tip Tony’s head back so that he has to look me in the eye.
There is silence for a beat before Addie whispers her answer. “Yes.”
“Good. Now be fucking quiet and enjoy the show.” I cock the hammer on my pistol and press it into the hollow beneath Tony’s cheek. “Where were we?”
“I don’t know shit.”
“Whatherwere you referring to?”
“Addie, get him t-”
“Don’t think I give a shit what your sister wants. I want my woman back, but I think we both know that. If I have to put your brains on her wall to get that, I’ll do it. Save your ass and answer my questions, Tony.”
“He’ll kill me,” he whispers.
I press the gun against his face, digging the barrel of it deeper into him. “And you think I won’t?” I ask.
He swallows hard and closes his eyes before he starts talking. “Her name is Honey. She’s some shitty coffee chick or whatever. Zeus wants her.”
“Uh-huh. Tell me something I don’t know.”
Blood dribbles from his mouth but Tony doesn’t move to wipe it away. “I-I, there was a woman that paid me to, ah, to get into Addie’s computer.”
