“Are you going to stop picking fights with me because you’re scared, and you don’t know everything?”

I growled and pinched his arm. He laughed.

“You in or out?” he asked.

“Depends. Will you call off the bodyguard?”

“If I give on this—”

“It’s called a compromise. Give me some of my normal back.”

He sighed. “It goes against everything in me, but all right. See? I can bend.”

Chapter 23

“When you were shopping, did you buy anything other than the dress and jewelry?” Flynn asked, his lips grazing my naked shoulder. Our legs were tangled together as we lazed in his large bed.

“Yeees.” I was a bit distracted due to Flynn’s wandering hands and tongue. If I moved my hip just a little to the left…ah, there he was.

“Thanks for telling me about it,” I teased.

“Barrett, we have a charity event to go to.”

I laughed.

Some time later, I resurfaced from my haze of lust. My skin was flushed but cooling as I rested my cheek on Flynn’s warm chest. “Is now the time to tell you I’m going to make your suite homier?” I heard the rumble of his laughter under my ear.

“What’s wrong with my suite?” he wondered.

“It’s gorgeous, but a bit…sterile.”

“Never use that word when referring to me,” he warned, mock sternly.

Giggling, I slid out of his arms.
