Taking in a deep breath, I blew it out and nodded in agreement. “Yup, my thoughts exactly.”

Lincoln straightened and turned to grab my hips, pulling me to press against his front. I went easily, letting my hands flatten against his chest as I rested the side of my cheek on him. His heartbeat thrummed slowly and steadily against my ear, the sound grounding me and offering a sense of strength.

Lincoln’s voice rumbled through me as he said, “The shifters will resume classes on Thursday, but it’s up to me to decide what we’re doing in this sector. I’m waiting to decide until after the meeting with Drake and Lo tonight since it seems we have more issues at hand than just what’s going on within DIA.”

Boy was that an understatement. If someone had gotten word to Jeoffrey that quickly about Andrei speaking to Lincoln and me, then we definitely had more issues at hand.

“Speaking of,” Andrei murmured as he glanced toward the clock. I felt a spike of anxiety from him, biting and strong through the bond. “We should head over there now.”

While I loved seeing the light-hearted side of him that made me initially fall for him, I knew he wasn’t back to normal yet. Not with his mom’s life on the line and Jeoffrey’s whereabouts unknown.

Pushing away from Lincoln, I crossed the space to Andrei and slipped my fingers through his, squeezing gently. “We’ll get through this, okay? Together.”

His chest rose as his nostrils widened. Sucking in a deep breath, he nodded as he slowly let it out. “Yes. Always together.”

Chapter13

ALINA

“In regard to your earlier thought,” Lincoln murmured in my ear as we walked down the hallway to the training room, “I have more than enough saved away to build a house. If that’s something you truly want, I’ll make it happen.”

A swarm of butterflies erupted in my stomach at his sweet offer. I hadn’t been trying to project my thoughts during that moment, but I was attempting to not automatically put my mental walls back up. We seemed to be in the middle of a beautiful turning point for us—to truly understand each other and learn to rely on one another. I didn’t want to ask them to share with me and then turn around and not be willing to do the same.

If that’s something you also want, but let’s get through all of the shit on our plate for now and then talk more about the possibility in the future.

Waking up to you every day and being able to fuck you in every room of the house without worrying about other students or faculty hearing us? Why wouldn’t I want that?

Did you not hear the part where I wanted all three of you to feel like it’s your home as well? It wouldn’t just be you and I, Linc.

I felt his gaze burning into the side of my face as we continued to walk.

Knowing it wasn’t just us now, was something I really needed him to understand if he truly wanted to create a home together. I refused to compromise on it, knowing in my heart that I wanted to work on making us all a team together, and hopefully one day a family.

I know, Princess, I know. I promise I’ve come to understand that just because they are also involved doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t be waking up to you every day and fucking you in every room like I want. It just means that I need to accept that they will be doing the same. It won’t detract from us, right?

As Andrei opened the door to the room, I tugged on Lincoln’s hand to stop him for a second before we went in. Tossing my arms around his neck, I pressed onto the tips of my toes as he leaned down to capture my lips.

Never. I need you all equally.

I felt like a bubble of warmth wrapped around us in that moment, suspending us from reality. His tongue tangled gently with mine, coaxing a small moan from me as his hands worked their way down to grab my ass.

Then I’ll be a happy man for the rest of our lives.

A cough echoed through the empty hall, startling me away from Lincoln and putting me on high alert. My shoulders instantly loosened as I saw who it was—Drake stood behind us at the door, leaning there with his hand in his pockets. He looked almost carefree, like he didn’t have a possible mutiny on his hands and that he wasn’t watching his mate tongue down her other mate.

For a second, I was too shocked at his appearance to say or do anything. I’d never seen him in sweatpants or a thin cotton long sleeve before, but damn. My mouth watered from the casual look.

“Please, don’t let me interrupt,” he drawled as a shit-eating grin split his lips before sarcastically adding, “it’s not like we have anything important to discuss right now.”

I sensed absolutely no jealousy through our bond—color me intrigued and shocked. It was amazing to see the strides he and Lincoln had made in learning to share, which was a massive fucking relief.

Hello, Comoara. Enjoying yourself?

His tone was cheeky, and I found myself smirking at him.

I was, before you startled me. You can’t just sneak up on a girl when there’s the small matter of all of our lives being in jeopardy at hand.

As if Lincoln, Lo, or I would ever let anything happen to you. Having us all together is the safest you’ve ever been.
