“Prez, Halo, and the Baby are okay. She has split lips and a black eye, but that’s it. She needs to apply an ice pack to the lip and eye. The swelling should go down in a couple of days. She can take Tylenol or Advil for the pain. Her obstetrician should check her,” Slash says.
“Okay, thanks,” I say, moving my head up and down.
Slash nods and walks out of the room.
“Oh my god, Baby. Halo, I’m so glad that you’re okay,” Mama Bear says, walking over.
“Mom, it was awful. That crazy bastard almost raped me,” Halo says.
Her lip trembles and tears roll down her face.
“Halo, I’m glad that he didn’t. I’m going to bring you some tea to calm you down. Remember, almost is not the same as executed. I want you to remember that. You will be okay,” Mama Bear says, hugging her.
“Oh, Mom, I love you,” Halo says.
“I love you. I’ll take the cup of tea to the room,” Momma Bear says, kissing Halo’s temple.
“Okay, Mom,” Halo says.
Momma Bear walks out of the room.
“Baby, let’s go to my room,” I say, picking her up in my arms.
“Yes, I need a shower.”
I help her shower, and I give her my T-shirt to sleep in.
“Baby, are you okay,” I ask, climbing into the bed with her.
I wrap my arms around her and kiss her temple.
“Oh my god, Ash. That fucker tore off my bra and touched me. He sucked my nipple. It was gross.”
“I’m sorry that the bastard touched you. But we have to be happy that he didn’t hurt you and the Baby.”
“You’re not pissed that he touched me and sucked my nipple?”
“I don’t like it, but I’m happy that you’re alive and that he didn’t rape you or hurt you and the Baby. I love you and always will.”
“Oh, okay. But it makes me feel dirty.”
“You’re not dirty, and nothing that he did was your fault. Even if he would have raped you, it wouldn’t be your fault. I would still love you.”
