“Baby girl, I love you. I’m thrilled that we’re having a baby,” I say, cupping her face.

“For real?”

“Yes, for real,” I whisper, kissing her.

“Babe, are you sure that you want to talk to Don Elio,” Mia whispers, looking around the house.

“Da, Conti knows that I went after you and killed the bastard,” I say in a low voice, looking at her.

“Oh, yeah, but he doesn’t know about us,” Mia says, chewing her lip.

I rest my hands on her shoulders and gaze into her eyes.

“Baby girl, he knows because Pakhan talked to him this morning. I need to talk to him,” I say, moving my hand to cup her soft, smooth cheek.

Mia stares at me wide eyed, her golden brown eyes are so expressive, full of trust and love for me. She inhales, and exhales, nodding.

“Okay, let’s do this,” Mia says in a low voice.

“Okay,” I say, smiling.

I take her hand lacing our fingers. We walk to Conti’s office door, and I knock.

“Enter,” Conti yells.

Fuck!

He’s not happy.

I open the door, and we walk inside, and close the door. We walk up closer to his desk and stop. I look at him, waiting for him to start talking.

Don Elio Conti sits at his desk, leaning back into his dark burgundy leather tuff chair. He grabs his cigar and takes a drag, looking at us. He exhales, and the smoke swirls around him.

Mia starts swaying; she holds onto my arm. I look down at her, looking into her eyes.

“Are you okay,” I ask.

“Yes, just a little dizzy. Ahhhhh. . excuse me,” Mia moans, running to the door.

“What the hell,” Conti grumbles.

I ignore the fucker.

Mia pulls the door open and vomits all over the tiled floor. I walk over to her, pulling back her silky brown hair from her face.

“Baby,” I say, rubbing her back.

“Oh my, this is so embarrassing,” Mia whimpers, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. “I’m sorry, Don Elio.”

Mia looks at Conti, blinking her eyes to stop the tears.

“Don’t worry. I’m sure that it will be cleaned up,” I say, taking her hand.

Conti picks up his cell phone and slides his fingers over the screen.

Within a minute, a maid is cleaning up the floor.

I walk Mia over to the armchair, and she sits down. I look at Conti, raising my brow.
