“I bet. He’s a hottie,” Heather laughs.
“He’s a keeper,” Marissa says, nodding.
“Well, I think I will go to the frat party; besides, he’s busy at work,” I say, nodding.
“Awesome, let’s get some food because I’m starving,” Marissa says, adjusting her backpack.
“Yes, I’m hungry, and I need to go to the drugstore,” I say, chewing my inner lip.
Yeah, I need to get the fucking pregnancy test. No protection and I bet I’m pregnant. I never thought about it, and Anatoly never said a word. So, I think that I am pregnant.
“Okay, I’ll get us a seat at the pizza place down the street,” Heather says.
“Awesome, I’ll go with you because I need to get some stuff,” Marissa hums, nodding.
“Okay, let’s go
I stare at the pregnancy test; the words confirm it.
Pregnant
Yeah, not the plus or minus signs.
I wanted the pregnant word for the test because I didn’t want to have any doubts.
My heart swells, and I can’t help smiling. I rub my tummy, closing my eyes. It’s Anatoly’s baby, and I pray that he feels the same way I do.
But if he doesn’t?
I don’t fucking care.
I’m having my baby with or without him.
I take the test stick to my room and drop it into my purse. I grab my robe and return to the bathroom to shower. I need to hurry and get ready for the party. My chicas will be here soon.
I move my fingers over my cell phone screen, texting Anatoly.
Gigi ~ I’m going to a frat party with my chicas. This is the address. 555 West 113thSt.
I stare at my cell phone, waiting for his response. He always does.
Anatoly ~ Da. I’m coming to get you.
Okay, the man is possessive and overprotective.
But I love it.
“Okay, let’s go,” I say, sliding my cell phone into my side leather jacket pocket.
“I’m ready,” Marissa hums, grabbing her crossbody Coach purse.
“Oh yeah, I’m so excited! Maybe I can hook up with a hot frat dude,” Heather hums, shaking her shoulders.
“Si, you can but be careful,” I say, raising my brow.
“No worries,” Heather says, waving her right hand.
We walk out of my apartment and down the street to get into the waiting Uber. I stare out the window, seeing the pregnancy test result in my mind.
