“Is she going to school,” I ask, running my fingers through my wet locks.

“Yes, she’s in Chico State and is almost graduating,” Beau says, nodding. “I’ll be back.”

He walks out of the room, leaving me with so many questions.

But most of all, I feel joy and hope that he will be in my life again.

Plus, the man wants me.

I look around the room, chewing my lip. I sit on the bed, staring at the windows. It’s sort of odd that the windows are up high on the wall, close to the ceiling. The room is clean, with a masculine bed, desk, and chest.

This apartment is 100% better than my apartment.

I gather my clothes and fold them. I wonder if Roseanna is okay. The door opens, and Beau walks inside holding a pile of clothes.

“I got you some clothes. My sister wants to meet you,” Beau says, smiling.

He places the clothes on the bed next to me. I look through them.

“Oh gosh, these are still new,” I say, biting my lip. “Why don’t you return these and ask her to give me some of her older clothes,” I say.

Beau smirks, shaking his head.

“Baby, she has tons of new clothes. Don’t worry, it’s all good,” Beau says, leaning against the door.

“Okay,” I say, nodding.

I pull on black leggings, a cute, oversized t-shirt, and my boots. I shake out my hair and grab my crossbody purse. I pull out my lip gloss and apply it.

Beau stares at me, walks over, and hugs me.

“I’m so happy to have you back in my life,” Beau says, hugging me tight.

“Oh, Beau, I’m so happy,” I say, leaning into him.

“Baby, come on. Let’s get some food and meet my family,” Beau says, taking my hand.

“Pixie, this is Roxanna,” Beau says.

“Oh my god! She’s so pretty,” Pixie squeals, hugging me.

“Hi,” I say, smiling.

I can feel the blush rush up my face, and I close my eyes.

“Oh, wait! I remember you! You’re Shade’s girl from high school,” Pixie says, clasping her hands.

“Huh, yes,” I say, nodding.

I don’t know if I was Beau’s girl; maybe I was. We were young, and I didn’t bother with titles. I only know that he was mine.

“The girls will be here soon, and I can’t wait for you to meet them,” Pixie says, nodding.

“Baby, she means my sisters and Mama Bear’s girls,” Beau says, smiling.

“Oh yes, I would love to meet them,” I say, nodding.

“Pixie,” a tall biker walks over.
