He continues laying gentle kisses, as thoughts of how Harvey Lockhart can rip my heart open like a kid ripping off the Christmas wrapping paper of their gifts on Christmas morning.
“Good, baby. This will be the best Christmas ever.”
I hope so for my heart sake.
Chapter eleven
Hayley
The evening is going superbly.
The customers are loving the entertainment, the music and the drinks are flowing. Everyone is smiling and enjoying the festivities. The buffet table is being replenished as the night goes on.
Any leftovers go to the homeless shelter in the next town over.
My dancers are all backstage getting ready for their big number of the night. Every year, the whole crew do a big number before Harvey does his closing routine. I am so happy that this year it is with Kate. They are pretty cute couple and I am hoping that when they step out of his office, the evidence is there that he fucked her good and proper, marking her; claiming her.
Yeah, he just broke things off with Sandy but she was a bitch. My gaze pans over to Felix, as he serves people sitting at the bar. He must sense me watching him, because his head comes up andhis eyes connect with mine. He winks at me, then jerks his head, calling me to him.
I waste no time in closing the distance between myself and the bar. The bar that has the man I am falling in love with behind it, not that, it would stop me from getting to him.
I stop at the bar and lean forward, giving Felix the perfect view of my cleavage. I smirk at him when he licks his lips.
“Like what you see there, babe?” I quote his words back to him.
He nods his head and crooks his finger at me. I raise an eyebrow at him, but move closer anyway. It is not about denying him the kiss, but it is about me not getting another taste of his sweet lips.
A woman only has so much restraint when it comes to a man like Felix Levine.
“Always.” Is all he says, before taking my lips in a heated kiss, across the bar top.
I get lost in the kiss as always, so lost that I don’t even care that my ass is on show for everyone in the room. The music and the chatter fade away, as his warm lips press firmly against mine. His tongue mingles with mine, I can taste the Tennessee Honey whiskey he has sipped on tonight. I moan into his mouth as he grips the back of my neck, holding me tighter to him.
The kiss goes on for seconds, minutes, hours I have no freaking clue. A throat clearing, forces us to break the kiss, but Felix doesn’t pull his head away from me, he just turns to face the person who interrupted our little make out session.
An older gentleman stands there, smiling at us. His smile is infectious and familiar to me. I hear Felix chuckle next to me and my head swings to see a big smile on his face, a smile that pretty much matches the man standing next to me. Oh my God.
“Hey, Dad. What are you doing here?” Felix asks the man.
The man is his father.
Oh my fucking God.
I can feel the heat creep up my face, oh god. What a way to meet your boyfriend's dad. I pull back from Felix and straighten my back, ready to introduce myself, but his father beats me to it.
“Well I wanted to come and see what all the fuss was about. You have been working here for a few years, but I never game to see the place.” He turns to me and says. “Nice to finally meet you, Hayley. Felix here, has told me so much about you. I’m Jim, Felix’s father.”
His words stun me.
Felix has told his father about me. Holy cow. I chance a glance at Felix only to see him smiling at the interaction between me and his dad. I scowl at him and turn back to his father.
“Hi, Jim. So nice to meet you. I hope that Felix has said some nice things about me.” I give him an exaggerated wink, making both men chuckle.
“Oh, believe me he has told me plenty of nice things about you.” He gives me a wink and I can’t but laugh.
He is like an older version of Felix. They have the same smile, eyes and hair, but Jim had some grey running through his dark hair. He looks damn good for his age, at least I know that Felix will still look hot as he gets older.
“That is good then.” I say smiling at him.
