“That I did,” Hastings confirmed. “And I’m pretty sure I’m right.”
Surprisingly, Jennifer wasn’t awful. “Maybe it’s kinda romantic. Yeah, maybe, actually,” she said, batting her eyelashes at me. “Michael Hill does seem the type,” she threw in for good measure.
“Let’s hope so,” I concurred, smiling back at her. “Gotta run, kiddos.”
“I’ll text you next week when we go out to Campbell again, buddy,” Hastings said. I guessed we were destined to be buddies from then on seeing he’d landed the real queen.
“Tell Michael Hill I said hi,” Jen chimed in, twirling her hair and tilting her head to the side. I swear she resembled a Bratz Doll.
I got in my mother’s car and watched through the window as Jennnifer put on a show for me and kissed Hastings with two fingers holding her gum in the air. She was gorgeous to look at, that was an undisputed fact. Thankfully for my fragile mind, Mikey made me feel wanted because there was no way I could compete with her.
I stopped by Mikey’s work and sat in the parking lot until I saw him come out. After he assisted Mrs. Johnson to her car, I honked twice. He noticed me and jogged over.
I remained in the car and rolled the window down. He looked in all directions and then leaned closer for a quick kiss. “I miss you, Coop.”
“Miss you too,” I returned, rubbing my cock through my mesh basketballshorts and raising my brows.
Mikey reached in and grabbed my boner. “Fuck me,” he whispered. “Leave that alone until I get home, you nasty little boy.”
“Maybe,” I teased.
“I mean it, mister.”
I shifted gears deciding to save the sex talk for later. There was zero chance we’d get it on in the parking lot. “I met up with Hastings and Jen.”
“Yeah. You mentioned you were going to hang out. How’s life with those two?”
“I think they’re an item.”
“Good for them,” Mikey said, not giving a shit and reaching back into the car, trying to get his hand inside my shorts. “Damn, boy. You come all up in my work with that thing in your shorts.”
“Hurry home,” I advised. “Maybe I’ve watched another video or ten?”
“You wise ass,” he said, kissing me quickly and standing up outside my door. “What were they up to today?” he asked.
I assumed he was referring to Hastings and Jennifer. “Going out to Campbell,” I answered. “They invited me but I gotta clean the garage. I told them I’d go next week. Maybe you can come if you’re off?”
Mikey appeared alarmed. I knew he wasn’t jealous because that wasn’t his style. He squatted down and positioned his hand on the door’s edge near my elbow. “Please don’t go out to Campbell Lake without me?” he asked softly. “I’d worry, Coop.”
“Okay,” I said. “But what’s the big deal? I’m getting better at swimming but if you don’t want me to, I can pass.”
“I don’t wanna be a nag but I’d just worry about you too much.”
“Okay,” I repeated. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m good. Just promise me, okay?” he asked.
“Yeah, I promise.”
“Love you,” he said, squeezing my hand. “See you a bit after nine.”
I nodded and gazed into his eyes. I wasn’t sure why he was afraid or worried.
“And you’re sure you’re okay?” I asked, needing some kind of assurance.
“Perfect now that I’ve seen you.”
I watched Mikey walk back to the store, turning twice to check on me. I was madly in love and hoped he would never change. I felt safe.
