‘Only if it means I get another wedding night.’

Grant smiled. ‘Every night we spend together will be a wedding night, sweetheart, all the years of our lives.’

He bent to her and kissed her. When he drew back, Hannah sighed.

‘What a pity,’ she said. ‘Here you had an evening all planned, and I spoiled it. Whatever will we do with the rest of the night?’

Grant swung her into his arms. ‘Why don’t I take you on a tour of the apartment?’

‘But I’ve seen it.’

He gave her a long, dizzying kiss. ‘You’ve never seen my bedroom, Mrs MacLean,’ he whispered.

Hannah sighed. ‘Mrs MacLean,’ she murmured. ‘What a lovely sound that has…’

‘On second thought,’ Grant said as he lowered her to the bed, ‘let’s start with a tour of this room. How does that sound, darling?’

‘It sounds wonderful,’ Hannah murmured.

And then neither of them said anything for a very long time.
