“You feel amazing,” she murmured. Experimentally, she wiggled her hips. “What does it feel like to you?”

Her innocent movements set off a riptide of heat. “Let’s compare notes later.”

Settling her firmly under him, he began to move, rendering them both speechless. She arched against him, nails biting into his shoulders, those perfect, full breasts peaked against his torso.

Thrust for thrust, she met him, never retreating, never yielding. More. Faster. His body took from hers and she gave endlessly. Palming her rear, he changed the angle. Reversed the dynamic so he was doing the giving. Spiraling her higher into the heavens where she’d already taken him.

He needed to discharge, to explode. But he couldn’t...not yet. He tasted blood on his lip where he’d bitten down with the effort to hold back. Animalistic sounds growled from his throat as he bent one of her legs back to go deeper still.

Exquisite pleasure rolled over him, and he needed more. Relentlessly, he rolled his hips to meet hers, and when she tightened around him with a small moan, he lost control.

Groaning as he spilled his release, he collapsed to the side, rolling her with him as he lost all feeling in his extremities.

In the aftermath, they lay together, and he gently spooned her into his body to hold her tightly. She snuggled in willingly with a small sigh of contentment.

He let her essence bleed through him as he lay with his eyes shut, absorbing her. If he never had to move from this spot, it would be too soon.

An instant later, he cursed his own selfishness. “Can I get you anything?”

What did you give a woman who had just offered up her virginity? Diamond earrings? A washcloth? She was likely bruised and raw. It wasn’t as if he’d been gentle, not the way he’d pretended he was going to be.

“I’m fine, thanks. Don’t you dare move.” She wiggled closer to him. “Your body heat feels good against my sore muscles.”

“I should have gone slower.” Remorse crashed through his breastbone. He’d taken her innocence like the brute that he was. “I’m sorry I hurt you.”

“Don’t you dare apologize. Some of it hurt, but in a good way. It was amazing. Perfect. Beautiful. Everything I’ve ever dreamed of.” Threading her fingers through his, she raised his hand to her lips. “Thank you for that.”

Emotion clogged his throat and he swallowed against it, fighting to keep himself level.

The things she made him feel... He wished he could understand them. Could draw on his past to make sense of the swirl in his belly when he looked at her. But he couldn’t.

All he knew was that Caitlyn was a miracle. Everything he’d prayed to find when he’d set off from Indonesia in search of his life.

He stroked her side and with moonlight spilling over them both, he murmured the million-dollar question. “Why me? Of all the men in the world you could have chosen for your first experience.”

“I always wanted it to be you,” she said slowly. “Well, not always. Vanessa was...rather free with her affections, even back in high school. I didn’t like how broken up she always was after, and I vowed to save myself for the right man. The first moment I met you, I had this strange shock of recognition, like there you are.”

His hand stilled. “The first moment? You mean the pink-shirt meeting?”

She nodded and her hair brushed his chin. “After that, no other man could compare. I’ve had a crush on you for a long time.”

“Even while I was married?” It should have seemed wrong, but it thrilled him for some reason. Caitlyn had been saving herself for him, even through his marriage to someone else. It spoke to her constancy and devotion, and it humbled him.

“I didn’t say I was a saint. I had a lot of mixed feelings about it. You know, I cried for almost two days straight when they came to tell me the plane had crashed. I thought I’d lost you forever,” she whispered brokenly.

In the long pause, he gathered her in his arms and held her as close as physically possible as his heart thumped in tandem with hers.

While he’d been lost and alone, Caitlyn had been here in his house, mourning him. He’d thought no one cared. But she had. She still did.

It was a far better gift than her virginity.

The next morning, Caitlyn awoke at dawn, stiff and sore from a night sleeping on the floor entwined with Antonio. And every inch of her body felt glorious.
