She opened her eyes in confusion and lifted her hips.

He pushed in. She closed her eyes.

He stopped. Her eyes flew to his.

"I want all of you. Don't shut me out. " Richard's voice was gravelly. He held her gaze as he tightened his buttocks and pushed himself all the way in with one long stroke.

Shock jarred through her at the double impact of his invasion and the emotional link he demanded.

The pleasure was bewitching. He stroked her, long and smooth. Passion and need built. She could feel her orgasm approaching. It was so good.

"Leave your eyes open. I want to see you come. Give me that. " His words pushed her over the edge and her world splintered around her as she let him look into her soul.

Richard felt her body clench and spasm around him as he watched her orgasm take over her whole body. It pushed him over until he was hammering at her and tension exploded in a release so violent he felt it all the way to his soul.

He dropped his head to her chest and tried to breathe. He was stunned. Stunned by the way it was between them. He'd had sex with more women than he cared to remember. It had never been so good. So damn consuming. His arms tightened around her.

He was slowly coming back to focus and felt her quiver beneath him. He looked up and saw her eyes closed and a single tear running down her face.

His gut churned with possessiveness and need.

He was so fucked.

Chapter Six

Jenny woke up to sun shining through the French doors and the wonderful smell of coffee drifting on the air. She looked around and the tantalizing memory of last night came back. She stretched and sighed. The bed was so comfortable. She had slept the whole night through after falling asleep in his arms.

Richard was absent from the bedroom this morning, but the signs of his occupation were all around her. The covers beside her were thrown back where he been the night before. A towel lay on the floor where he had dropped it after his shower, damp and discarded. And a cup of coffee sat on the bedside table next to her, still steaming and meant for her.

She sat up, reached over and took a tentative sip. It was creamy and sweet, just like she liked it. It steadied her nerves but at the same time it dismayed her. How could he know how she liked her coffee? Was she that easy for him to read?

Wherever he was, he was showered and dressed. She was naked, and her clothes were spread out all over the house. She felt more than a twinge of agitation.

She did not know the protocol.

Before anxiety got out of control, he appeared in the doorway. He was dressed in totally disreputable cargo shorts and a faded yellow t-shirt that had seen better days.

He carried her cami in his hand.

She clutched the sheet to her chest and set the cup back on the table. She pushed her hair away from her face.

"You looking for this, babe? " He held the slender straps of her shirt out on one long finger. He strolled toward her. He looked down and tugged the sheet.

She held tight.

He tugged harder and she let go. He gave her one, all-encompassing look and then swiftly put the cami over her head. She lifted her arms and he pulled it down in place.

Richard stood back and saw the way the cotton molded and clung to her breasts. Her nipples tightened as he watched. The scent of sex clung to her from the night before. The musky smell hardened him. The wild mane of her hair begged for his touch. The attraction he felt for her was indisputable. Her allure was undeniable.

But she looked small and vulnerable.

He had taken from her mercilessly. He needed to give her a respite.

"I have some work to do downstairs in the study. Would you like a bath? Take whatever time you need and then we can fix some breakfast, okay? "

"I don't want to be a bother. I need to get home, anyway. "

"Do you have to work on Sunday's? " He was already moving toward the door.

"No, but I-- "

"Do your kids need you today? " He turned and waited.

"No, I just think-- "He cut her off again.

"Get in the tub, Jenny. " He turned and left the room.

Jenny jumped and ran half-naked to the bathroom. Damn, that man was good at giving orders!

She came down the stairs an hour later feeling more in control. She looked around his beautiful home and found him in a room that was no doubt his study. A huge mahogany desk sat in the center of the room and bookshelves lined the walls. State of the art technology was unobtrusive.

The room had a masculine feel, with dark leather furnishings and black and white prints decorating the walls.

The difference between this room and his office in the bar was dramatic. This room was polished, refined. It was the study of a rich man. The office at the bar was utilitarian, non-descript. Its purpose was functional and practical. It was an office used to make money. The office of a businessman.

He heard her approach and looked up. "You all finished, Angel-face? " She was dressed in white shorts and a tight little red shirt. Her hair was soft and newly washed and she had on no make-up that he could tell. Her feet were bare.

She looked gorgeous.

"Yes. " She waited in the doorway.

"Then come here. " He rolled his big chair back away from the desk and patted his lap.

"No, I don't think so. " She crossed her arms over her chest like she was defending herself against him.

"You've been getting your way for the last two days. It's my turn. " With that she turned and left the room.

Richard watched her admiringly as she sashayed off down the hall. The bewitching curve of her rear end beckoned to him.

It was her turn, huh? Yeah, he wanted in on that game. He got up and followed her to the kitchen.

Jenny stood in the center of the room and turned all the way around. The room was huge and had everything a cook could dream of. Granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. A triple oven and a large ceramic cooktop. There was a stainless steel warmer, and a built-in coffee station.

The kitchen was huge, modern, but had a definite cozy ambience, as well. A brick fireplace took up one whole wall, and it had a built-in pizza oven. There was a breakfast nook adjacent to it where you could sit and sip your coffee and feel the warmth from the fire on cold winter mornings.

The brick continued on and encircled a curved, wrought iron door that led to a wine grotto. The beauty and comfort of the room soothed her soul. She had never been in a room like this before in her life. She felt the room down to her bones.

"This is beautiful, Richard. "

"I'm glad you think so, sweetheart. "

"No, I mean it. It's an amazing room. " She touched her hand on the surface of the big, scarred, pine table that stood center stage in the room.

He answered her back with a grin. "Well, if you like it that much, maybe I can talk you into making breakfast? "

They sat on the terrace and sipped the last of the coffee as they watched the boats go by. The mood was quiet, still and comfortable. Richard couldn't remember the last time he had ever felt so at peace in a woman's company. She was soft and gentle, and undemanding.

She hadn't blinked an eye at his suggestion that she make breakfast. She fell into it with an enthusiasm and playfulness that was relaxing. He had moved around beside her in the kitchen as she found the things she needed and proceeded to make him the best breakfast he'd had since his mother died.

She didn't seem to mind the feminine work and he didn't think there was a motivation behind it. None besides hunger, anyway.

For the first time, he saw her eat with an appetite.

"You cook really well, Jenny. Thank you. " She flushed and took another sip.

"Thanks. I think your kitchen did most of it. "

"I don't think so. It never does that for me when I walk in there. " He smiled and continued.

"You seem to be the perfect woman. You cook great. You make your own money. You seem to have raised responsible kids. God kno

ws you're hot in bed. "

She watched him warily and wondered where this was going. "Is there a question in there somewhere? "

"Sure. You must have divorced him, right? No sane man would ever want you to get away. Was he mean to you, did he hurt you? " He almost didn't want to know the answer. Just thinking about her being hurt by a man was tearing his guts up.

"Not the way you mean. He never physically hurt me. Basically, what happened was that we grew apart. He cheated on me. It started early; when I was pregnant with the boys. It was a dangerous pregnancy, twins often are. " She paused. Maybe that would be enough of an answer for him.

It wasn't.

"Go on. "
