She’s Kayley’s best friend.

Why can’t I get that into my thick fucking skull, dammit?

“Maybe I’ll keep rambling all day then,” she says. “Test your patience.”

“Oh, you’re testing me,” I growl.

“Liam,” she says, in an imploring tone.

“Lola,” I counter, voice husky.

“You can’t—we can’t—I can’t …”

“Where have your rambling skills gone, eh?” I tease.

She giggles sweetly. “Wouldn’t it ruin your whole I-hate-Valentine’s routine if you—”

She shuts her mouth, biting down, her hands worrying at each other in her lap.

“What?” I urge. “What were you going to say?”

“I don’t want to,” she says.

“You either tell me, or I spank you red-raw until you’re coming too hard to speak.”

“Liam …”

“Tell. Me. Now.”

She sighs, staring out the window, as though anxiety is making it impossible for her to look at me.

“I was going to say wouldn’t it ruin how much you hate Valentine’s day if you fell for a girl on Valentine’s weekend, okay? But I’m not saying you’re going to. Or that we ever could. So let’s just drop it.”

“You really are a sassy girl, aren’t you?” I snarl.

I can’t help it. My body just enflames when she gets like this, all feisty and ready to go. It makes me wonder if I could ever make her just as sassy in the bedroom … or the kitchen, or the balcony, or wherever the fuck I feel like taking her.

“Liam,” she says, in that breathy voice that tells me so much.

It says that she knows I shouldn’t be talking to her like this. She knows she should put up a fight. And yet she also knows that she’s as powerless to resist as I am.

She knows that she’s too horny, her sex too hot and wet to ignore.

“I know,” I growl, forcing my gaze to focus on the road.

We drive up Main Street, bustling in the snow, couples walking arm in arm in and out of stores.

“I just find it so hard when I’m around you, Lola. Every second I’m near you, all I can think about is driving up between your thighs, taking you like you’ve never been taken.”

She makes a moaning sound that damn-near causes me to crash the car.

“That wouldn’t exactly be difficult,” she murmurs.

My instincts thrum. I swallow a ball of tension, my throat shifting. My manhood pulses and my seed roars.

“What?” I groan, even as the realization starts to dawn on me.

If she tells me this, I know I’m going to be completely enthralled by her, even more so than I already am.

I’ll be her captive.

Just as much as she’ll be mine.

Forever.

“It doesn’t matter,” she murmurs.

I turn into the club’s parking lot. It’s called Hidden because it’s an underground club, the upstairs built on the outside to look like any other nondescript office. It gave the club an air of exclusivity when I first opened. Later, I added the sign in big bold silver letters, and now there are two snow-dappled banners flowing down either side of the letters, advertising the Valentine’s Day event.

“It does to me,” I say, bringing the car to a stop. “When are you going to learn who’s in charge here, Lola? Tell me what you meant. Now.”

She wheels on me, her hair flurrying around her.

“You shouldn’t care,” she gasps. “You shouldn’t want to know.”

I lash my hand out and clamp onto her thigh, squeezing hard enough to let her feel the power that thrums through my forearm. Her thigh pulses, going tight. I can feel the heat of her through her pants.

Her skin is on fire.

She’s such a horny needy fuck goddess.

“I do care, and I do want to know. So spit it out. You’re testing my patience.”

She bites her lip, suppressing a moan.

“Look at you,” I smirk. “I could make you cream in your panties right now and there’s nothing you could to do stop me. You’re so fucking horny, aren’t you? Say it, Lola. Tell me how horny you are.”

“I’m horny,” she gasps. “You do it to me, Liam. But please—please take your hand away. Somebody might see.”

I want to roar that I don’t give a damn. I wouldn’t, if that somebody didn’t include my daughter.

I sigh and withdraw my hand, fighting the urge to claim her full pouty lips a second time.

“What did you mean when you said it wouldn’t be difficult?”

Please don’t let this be what I think it is. I’ll be lost forever.

I won’t be able to fight these urges, not that I’m doing a great job as it is.

She turns away from me.

“I’m a virgin, Liam,” she murmurs. “So you see, whatever you think is going on here, it isn’t—it can’t. Last night was the furthest I’ve ever gone with anybody. It was the first time I, um, did that with another person. You know, not on my own.”

My body thrums hotly.

My seed roars.

My fate is carved into stone, immutable, and it’s one word, repeated endlessly.
