Dani giggled. “He’ll have to fight me for it, that’s for sure!”

The bar let up a slew of claps and whistles as a growl burst forth from my chest. This girl had been using that kind of language all night. Cursing. Making sexual innuendos. Blushing at me and alluding to things with her eyes that made my gut churn with desire for her. She was scratching on a door she wasn’t ready to open. But damn it, I was ready to open it.

“I like your friends. They’re a lot nicer than they look.”

I grinned. “Yeah? Were you nervous?”

She reached for her helmet. “Yeah, a bit. I mean, when I first saw them. But they’re nice. And funny.”

“I’m glad you think so.”

I watched her undo the strap on her helmet. She kept fumbling with it. She leaned against my bike and tucked the helmet underneath her arm to try and get a good grip on it. She looked so cute during her struggle, trying to get the damn thing unclipped and moving her hair out of the way long enough to slide the helmet over her head. She huffed and grumbled with the cutest little voice I’d ever heard.

“I’m glad you had a good time, beautiful.”

She lifted her head. “Huh?”

I wrapped my arm around her quickly, pulling her into my chest. And as her eyes grew wide, I went in for the kill. I crashed my lips against hers as soft thumps and claps could be heard behind me. Not even the walls of the pub could mute their sounds of joy. I knew they were watching. Waiting to see what might happen. And as Dani let me claim her mouth, my body filled with desperation for her.

“I think they really like you,” I murmured.

She giggled as she pulled back, then finally, the helmet slid down onto her head. I pressed my naked forehead against the visor of her helmet, enjoying her warmth for a few more seconds. What had this girl done to me? This little college girl with no more knowledge of the world than the back of my fucking toilet. It astounded me. I still hadn’t figured it out.

I didn’t want it to stop, though.

“Come on. Let’s get out of here.”

“I don’t have classes in the morning.”

I furrowed my brow as I reached for the button that flipped up her visor.

“What was that?” I asked.

She blushed furiously. “I said, uh, I don’t have classes in the morning. I mean, if you want to stay out a bit later. I just mean I can, if you want.”

I grinned. “Good to know.”

I slid the visor back down over her face and reached for my helmet. Then, a few minutes later, we took off on my bike, with her arms draped around me and her legs squeezing my thighs, we raced through the night. Though we sure as hell weren’t heading back to campus.

I knew exactly where I wanted to take her now.

I knew she mentioned that for a reason. I saw it in her eyes. In the flush of her cheeks. I raced through town, taking back alleys that made her squeal and cutting curbs just to feel her cling even tighter to me. I sped down the back country roads of the outskirts of town. And once we coasted into the driveway of my house, I heard her snicker.

“I knew you’d be thinking about sex the second I mentioned something.”

I flipped my visor open. “Not sure what you’re talking about.”

She slid her helmet off. “Uh huh. Sure. You didn’t know at all. Right? You know, since your brother’s still at the pub?”

I put down the kickstand. “Hey, you can think whatever you want. But I want another drink. And I can’t do that while I’m out and driving with you around on the back of my bike. Come on. I’ll fix you another rum and Coke.”

We made our way inside and I sat her down at the kitchen table. I set about making us another round of drinks, favoring whiskey in a glass over another beer. I wanted something stronger. Something to sip on instead of gulp down. I sat the drink in front of Dani and watched--maybe a bit too closely--how she wrapped each individual finger around it.

Every movement of her body mesmerized me.

I wasn’t sure why.

“You know, all of this is new to me.”
