When they stilled at last, both of them trembling and damp, only the sound of their rapid breathing remained. They stared at each other for a long time without saying anything; or perhaps they were speaking without words. It certainly felt like it.

Darien took Loren gently by the face, and he pulled her down to his level so he could kiss her soundly. “Good morning,” he mumbled against her mouth. Her chest was pressed against his, the closeness allowing her to feel his words reverberate through her, touching her heart like the sweetest kiss.

“Thebestmorning,” she corrected.

The corner of his lips tilted up. “There will be plenty more where that came from. I’m afraid you’ll grow sick of me.”

“I highly doubt that.” She couldn’t catch her breath. He was still hard as granite inside her; the realization had her turning to liquid all over again, and she knew it didn’t escape Darien. Her heart was slamming in her chest, and she could feel Darien’s heart crashing too, felt it in different parts of her.

“Is that right?” he crooned.

He suddenly flipped her onto her back, pinning her beneath him, and she gasped. The room spun, but parts of her body tingled with a silent request that dizzied her more than the movement. She hadn’t known it was possible to want someone so much, and all the time. She just couldn’t get enough of him.

“Again so soon?” she breathed. It was a ridiculous question, she knew; he was a hellseher, and hellsehers could go at things like sex at a far different pace than humans. Hell, they hardly needed sleep.

He tsked, bopping her nose with a finger. “You say that like you’re surprised.”

He took hold of her left foot, brought her leg up, and hooked her ankle over his shoulder. His humor vanished then, sharpening into primal focus as he fully sank into her, the angle deep and oh…oh,so good. He began moving inside her, and a groan slipped through her lips at the sensation. The tenderness she felt between her legs somehow made the pleasure more intense.

“Is this alright with you, Miss Calla?”

“Yes.”

He bowed over her, brushing her hair aside as he whispered, “I can’t hear you, baby.”

“Yes,” she gasped, the air squeezed out of her lungs as he rocked into her deeply.

He looked down at her as he moved inside her, his gaze feral. He seemed to like the sound of that word, so she said it again.

“Yes.”

The next thrust was even deeper than the previous, causing her to claw at the sheets and dig her heel into his shoulder.

“Yes.”

Another thrust to reward her, so deep shedidswear this time.

She was convinced she would never get tired of this, never get tired of him, would never feel like any thrust was deep enough to fully satisfy her craving for him. Their souls were one and the same, begging to be joined the same way as their bodies. The closest they could get was this act of love, and it would have to do—itwoulddo, until they were nothing but memories. Until theworldwas nothing but a memory.

The morning continued like that. And even though she was late for school because of it, she didn’t have any regrets.

Not one.

“Watch where you’re going, half-life.”

If it weren’t for the events of these past four months, Loren Calla might’ve run out the front doors of Angelthene Academy for Magic right then and there.

Instead, she shouldered her book bag and spun around to face the werewolf who’d slammed into her in the crowded hallway.

She pinned him with a cold stare, smiled sweetly, and said in a voice just as sweet as her smile, “You have all of eternity to be a jerk. Why don’t you take the day off?”

The wolf was too surprised to say anything; he gaped at Loren, his mouth hanging open like a fish. His fiery eyes were bugging out of his head.

Loren tipped up an eyebrow at him, loving how every student in their vicinity was watching.

Where she stood at Loren’s right, Dallas cackled as the wolf spun and took off into the crowd as if he’d see a ghost, his bookbag thumping against his back. Whispers of amusement nipped at his heels, and several students gave Loren a smile that suggested they were impressed.
