“Track her?” Jake asked.

“He makes her wear a GPS tracker,” Beau told him.

“Jesus, you guys really are fucking crazy. And paranoid.”

Five minutes later, as he stared at her location on his computer screen, he knew his paranoia was justified.

“What the fuck is she doing at Osborne’s?” Beau asked. “And how did she get there?”

“Beau, go get the rest of the boys and arm up,” he told his brother.

“Alec—” Jake started.

Fuck. Just his luck the damn sheriff was here. He turned to him but was interrupted as his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID.

“Osborne,” he told Jake before he answered it. “Osborne, what the fuck are you doing with my woman?”

He ignored Jake’s surprised look.

“This isn’t Osborne. And your woman has a big mouth.” He froze, moved his gaze to Jake then set the phone away from his ear and put it on speaker, but still held the receiver close to his mouth. “Who is this?”

Jake’s eyes narrowed in understanding.

“This is Frankie Angelo.”

He sucked in a breath. Fuck. Angelo. How had he gotten to Mia? “Don’t you fucking harm her.”

“I see you know who I am. Good. That should make this easier. I was just going to kill the girl, you know. Until I discovered who’d given her refuge. I was shocked to discover she was living with Tony Marceras’s right-hand man.”

Okay, now he really wished Jake wasn’t there.

“What do you want?” Because he obviously wanted something from him.

“I want a meet with Mateo.”

“That’s gonna take me some time to set up,” he warned. It wasn’t actually going to happen at all. But it didn’t have to, since he already knew where Mia was.

“You have twenty-four hours or the bitch dies. Either way, I’m happy.” The call ended.

Alec slammed his fist down on his desk. “Fuck. Shit.”

“You want to explain what’s going on?” Jake asked as he stood and headed towards the door.

“You should stay here,” he told Jake. “What’s going to happen, you don’t want to be involved in.”

“Oh, I think that’s exactly why I need to be there,” Jake countered. “To make sure that you don’t do something stupid.”

“A mob boss has my woman. My woman, who is the star witness in a case against him for murder. And I’m going to get her back.”

“I’ll help you,” Jake said grimly. “Although, I wish to fuck you’d told me about all this before.”

Alec smiled. It wasn’t a pleasant smile. “We don’t like cops much in my family.”

Jake snorted. “Far as I can tell, you guys don’t like anyone. But, right now, I’m here to help you. Afterwards you can explain all of this to me.”

Twenty minutes later, he was stationed outside Osborne’s place, using a pair of high-powered night-vision binoculars to figure out what the fuck was going on. He could see clearly into the large living room. Angelo and three goons stood around the room. Combined with the three guards posted outside the house, that made for seven men to take down. Osborne was lying on the floor, not moving.

That news had made Jake start cursing, even more than when he’d seen the arsenal the brothers had brought with them. He’d given Alec a dark look, meaning he was going to have a lot of explaining to do later.
