I had gotten off work earlier when she texted me to be her plus-one to an event hosted by a senior partner at her firm. I wanted to curl under the covers and sleep in, but she showed up at my door with a slutty black evening dress andasked me nicelyto get my ass up and get dressed.

"Are you okay, though?" She gazed at me with scrutiny.

My cheeks burned as I grabbed another glass.Oh, you mean aside from being sexually frustrated by my new wicked entanglement, who has done everything except fuck me, I’m dandy.

I didn't say that to her, though. "Of course, I'm fine. Work's just a little stressful these days."

She scoffed. "Hmm. Would explain why you have been so occupied even when you get off work." Her tone carriedinnocence on the surface, but beyond it, her wicked sarcasm struck me like a blow.

I avoided her gaze only for my eyes to land on those charcoal gray eyes I knew all too well.

My body stiffened, shivers running up my spine. What was he even doing here? Who invited him? Does Rose know him? A lot of questions swept through my mind, yet even as they did, I couldn't stop checking him out.

He looked so dashing in his dark three-piece suit. It clung to his muscular frame, highlighted his broad shoulders, and made him look as sinisterly wicked as any intimidating businessman would. His dark hair was lazily styled, tamed backward enough to augment those ominously beautiful eyes, but loose enough to give him that sense of mystery.

It was as though he was the only one I could see in the room. His presence swallowed up everyone else. I clenched my thighs together, biting down on my lips before forcing myself to look away.

Rose was already staring at me with an amused look.

"Do you know him?" I had to ask her. This was her firm’s charity event after all, she'll know every single guest.

"Luca Lombardi?" It wasn't until she mentioned his name that I realized that the bastard never actually told me what his name was. "Yeah, my firm is on one of his legal teams. Thomas likes to feel important. I'm guessing that's why he invited the ruthless businessman no one dares to cross."

I choked on my drink. So, she does know him.

"Oh," I muttered.

"What?" She cocked her head to the side like she was trying to discern something she must be missing. "Wait, you do know him. How did you—" Her eyes widened.

"He's the guy from the blind date!"

"What? No!" I denied quickly.

"Oh, shut up," she squealed. "I mean, I knew the man was intense, but I didn't think he had that much intense daddy energy going on. I totally get why you are so hung up on his dick. He'sscorching hot."

"Rose!" I cautioned her, trying to tame my burning cheeks this time around.

I glanced toward him again, only this time, he was already staring intensely at me.

His eyes devoured the way the fabric of my dress stretched around my body, its plunging sweetheart neckline, and the slutty slit that flaunted my legs to everyone every time I moved. His heated gaze hardened my nipples, sending heat straight to my throbbing pussy.

I looked away sharply, trying to take in a deep breath.

"Oh, he's coming toward us."

I nearly spat out my drink. I wanted to walk away, but the smell of his cologne hit me before I could try that. I shuddered, looking up at him, then swallowed thickly.

"Evening, Ms. Russo." I didn't know the man had a polite bone in him.

"Good evening, Mr. Lombardi," Rose responded sweetly. I didn't have to look at her to know she was enjoying this whole drama.

"Surely, you don't mind me stealing your friend for a bit."

"She's all yours."

Luca’s eyes darkened at that comment. I could feel it in my bones that he believed that I belonged to him, but I didn't. This was just some twisted arrangement. The moment he fucked me again, I was walking away. I was done with his condescending and commanding bullshit.

"Dance with me." He stretched out his hand, keeping his eyes fixed on me enough to know that he wasn't asking.
